A few days ago my Vizio TV of less than a year started acting up. I turned off my PS5, turned off the tv, and left for a few hours. I come come and turn on the tv but it doesn't show anything. The audio still works though. The picture varies. Sometime it's black with a little glow. Sometimes it's a lighter black with white edges around. Any suggestions? I've unplugged everything, and tried holding down the power for 1 minute.

Bought the TV back in 2018-ish, Vizio E70-F3 70". A couple of months ago we noticed that when turning it on and going to Live TV (HD antenna), sometimes the screen is black but it displays captions, can view and browse the TV menu, and it plays sound.
Switch to any other input mode and the screen works, leading me to believe it's not that "black screen of death" or other screen/lighting issue. The HD antenna we have is not powered and installed up in the attic, so I don't think that is the problem either.
I think it may be a result of that last big update these received because the issue didn't exist before that. Anyone else experiencing the same issue, and did you find a fix?
TV is a Vizio 42 with model number E421VO.
The picture has completely gone out. The screen is black, not grey. In a dark room I cannot see any parts of a picture.
TV powers on fine. There is an LED that comes on briefly from the back of the PSU board, maybe a second or two. Screen never flickers.
I've pulled the cover off and looked at both boards, but am unable to find any physical or blatant damage.
The sound works good.
Any tests to check and see if it is the motherboard or PSU?
Cheers, Thanks so much!
Turn it on and shine a flashlight on it, if you can see some of the picture when you hold the flashlight at the right angle then it's the back-light that want out. You can look around for a used board on ebay or have someone repair the board. I've fixed a few, usually it's just bad capacitors on the power supply/inverter board.
Edit:I'm not affiliated this this auction at all but if it is the power supply this could be the easy fix. This was just what I found easiest/cheapest on eBay. If you go this route, you will want to make sure the board part number matches up. Ebay
Edit2:Could also be the LED's or bulbs as well if it's the the power supply. inverter testing
I have the same TV. Mine occasionally does this, usually turning it off and on will fix. One time that did not fix despite numerous tries, so kept it unplugged for a day and worked fine the next.
Not a permanent solution, but a quick fix maybe?
TV is about a year and a half old. I've read countless stories about the "black screen of death", but my issue seems to be slightly different. The back light is definitely on when the TV is powered up. Flashlight test doesn't work; nothing at all appears on the screen but a faint glow from the TV being "on". I've reset, hard reset, unplugged everything.. I'm not opposed to taking it apart and diagnosing the issue, but has anyone had something similar happened? Was it a power board problem? A fuse? Just trying to get an idea!
My Vizio is model v585-H11
