To fix a Windows Store error, start by resetting the Windows Store cache. If that doesn't work, run the Windows Store troubleshooter to detect and fix problems automatically. For more persistent issues, try re-registering the Windows Store or running the DISM command to repair system files. Creating a new user account or performing a system restore can also help if the problem is related to user profiles or recent changes.

September 4, 2023 -

Running windows 11 arm 22621.2215 install and the microsoft store app has disappeared. Using windows key and entering "microsoft store" brings up a hit that when you click it runs a troubleshooter process that doesn't resolve issue. I've tried the following search results suggested solutions and none of them has worked.

  1. run "Check for updates" and apply them if offered

  2. Dism.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /Restorehealth

  3. WsReset.exe

  4. Get-AppxPackage -allusers *WindowsStore* | Remove-AppxPackage followed by Get-AppxPackage -AllUsers Microsoft.WindowsStore* | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

  5. download and install the xbox app and lauch it and wait for it to display prompt to install missing microsoft store app dependency which never happened on my setup

Any suggestions on another option that is known to work?

You must never perform step 4 on Windows 11. This OS already has the Reset-AppxPackage cmdlet. You must never run step 4 it on Windows 10 20H2 or later, either. These versions have WinGet. In addition, in step 4, after your run this: # BAD CODE - DO NOT RUN Get-AppxPackage -allusers *WindowsStore* | Remove-AppxPackage ... the following code potentially does nothing: # BAD CODE - DO NOT RUN Get-AppxPackage -AllUsers Microsoft.WindowsStore* | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"} ... because Get-AppxPackage potentially returns nothing. Anyway... If your Windows 11 has Winget, try using it to install Microsoft Store. Otherwise, try reinstalling Windows. Trouble is, I don't know if either of these two steps can happen on Arm.

I lost the Store App in the upgrade from 10 to 11. Even resetting PC never brought it back. So if that sounds similar to how you lost it do this 20 second fix. 1. Open Xbox App 2. Open settings. 3. Click on General settings tab (left second tab on list) 4. In upper right of screen (window) there will be a list of system bundles that are missing (I had three) click install on all of them.
