Where to buy classic business suits for women?
Help?! Women's suits in SLC?
I’d try Macy’s. And congrats.

Where to buy a nice (and, ideally, affordable) women’s suit?

My daughter is about to graduate from college and needs some professional clothes. I'd like to buy her a nice suit for Christmas, but I'm a little at a loss.
Kohls is too "old" for her, and Banana Republic seems to only have "slouchy" style suits. I just want something classic that won't cost more than $400 combined suit jacket and pants.
Any recommendations?
I'm being sworn in as an attorney in a little more than a week. I need to find a place with women's suits. Help?
Tried JCrew, didn't work out. Not made for a pear shaped woman. 🥲
Thank you!
UPDATE:
Tried Nordstrom, Dillard's, Macy's, Banana Republic, Ann Taylor, and H&M. Not a single full suit fit me.
I realize that the oversized androgynous/1980s-esq suit jackets are en vogue and everywhere, but it does not wear well on me. A tailor literally told me that the trends do not suit me, so don't buy right now. If only it were that simple. 😓
The pant situation is equally messy. I generally need a 32-33 inseam, so most pants are too short. The best pant was at Nordstrom, a wide leg. But the suit jacket was a lost cause with its oversized structure + my figure.
Contacted Tailor Cooperative just to see---silence.
Ann Taylor had the most promising suit jackets, but the pants? Why have women's suit pants amounted to literal matching leggings?! Ahh! I tried to go up a size just to see. All it did was make the situation a little less blinding but left a huge gap between my hip and waist. 😭
At this point, I'll tip someone that can find me something that works.
Ideally, I'd like a navy wide-leg trousers with a matching medium-length suit jacket. I'm open to other colors like a deep green, burgundy, dark grey, etc.
I'm 5ft8 Generally size 4 in pants, but sometimes a 6 gives the desired loose fit. Tall length (32-33 inseam)
My hips are ten inches larger than my waist, so there is a huge contrast.
XS or S in tops S in suit jackets, generally.
I’d try Macy’s. And congrats.
I would try Nordstrom for womens suits. If they don't have any ask the Sales associates, they should have some good recommendations. Maaaybe White House Black Market, but I don't think they have matching sets, they are more for everyday office wear. Congratulations on your new job!!
