Marketplace isn’t really an option unfortunately, I live in a small Midwest town and there isn’t much on there. I have a big family and am needing something large- probably a sectional. Going to bite the bullet and order something online, not sure where my best options would be. Any help is appreciated!!
I've been searching around online for sectionals that are within my budget, which, admittedly, isn't much - I'd say it caps out at about $1000, and i'd much prefer to buy something in the $500-600 range. I've already accepted that, barring getting something from craigslist or the facebook marketplace, this likely leaves me with sectional options that are not of the highest quality. That's fine - but I don't necessarily want something that's going to fall apart on me within a year, either. I scour the ratings on the websites i'm checking out, and it worries me that all the best ratings are from people who just got the sofas, while the worst are from people who've had them for a couple years.
SO, I wanted to see if anyone had any recommendations for sectionals within my budget that they've had good experiences with. A few examples of some that i've been considering include the Russ sectional from Wayfair, the Zahra 6-piece sectional from Overstock, or the Amanda XL sectional from Sofamania.
IKEA. Are you very heavy? I’ve never had a sofa break on me. We have a inexpensive IKEA sofa that I can’t wait to upgrade once my children are grown. Ours takes a ton of abuse and is still holding up and looking good, unfortunately. Sturdy as ever despite being used as a trampoline daily (I regularly bounce on it myself) and being a play area for cats and dogs. The cushions will need to be stuffed every few years with new poly but that is true of just about any sofa under 1k. It’s my our 3rd IKEA sofa in 20years. My original one is still holding up in someone else’s home. The second was my husband’s before we met and was not the right size/style for our home. This third one I’ve had 5 years.
We bought a sectional that was quite large (2 full sides and chaise on 3rd side) at living spaces. It cost around $850 and is decent quality. I liked that we could customize the pieces to fit our wonky space. We’ve had it for two years now and it’s still holding up well. One of the upper cushions is warped but that’s because my 35lb dog sits on it every day so I don’t really blame the cushion.
