If you open up your PayPal app and look at "In-Person & QR code" in the menu there will be a map on top of the page that says "Pay with PayPal Nearby". For me Safeway sells gift cards. I've never been in a CVS so I couldn't tell you. If you happen to have the 10% grocery promotion you could potentially get 14% back. More on reddit.com

I’m not certain but I feel like they start doing that to try and limit people getting scammed. It seems to have that problem anytime someone is buying multiple high dollar cards. Had a dude today trying to buy 2 $350 apple cards. Pretty certain he had been in before and pretty certain he is being scammed in some way (I feel like he is communicating with a fake lady who entertains him via text/images/videos but who knows). He wanted them on separate transactions but the 2nd one failed and think he has been through this multiple times. Did stop another lady from being scammed today her “pastor” wanted her to buy multiple apple gift cards and send her the information from the back. I got her to realize the number that was texting her wasn’t her pastors number. So she contacted her actual pastor who verified it was a scam. More on reddit.com

December 13, 2023Anyone else act on the $500 gift card offer to switch to DISH (but then discover that the card sent only has $200 on it)?
The number 1 mistake is people taking way to long to use the gift card. They did sent you the wrong amount but normally you can dispute it to get it corrected, but you waited so long to use it you are out of that time window. FYI some cards expire within 6 months so be quick to use it More on reddit.com

Before you go through with this, please note that there are scams ongoing with these Visa cards in store. They steal the cards (before activation), open the package without damaging it (heating glue), copy the info, then make it look new and put it back in the store. Unsuspecting people go and buy it, activating it, scammers check balance daily, and then use it. Last Christmas, my mom paid someone with a $500 visa for some work. They got it, opened it, and balance had been drained. Purchased in Texas and spent in Virginia same day. Visa said it was out of their hands Fair warning.
