I’m new to Reddit and I’ve seen a couple posts with /s or /t What does it mean and are there other /letters that have some sort of meaning?
Lately I've noticed that more and more communities are implementing "/s" to indicate sarcasm, but who started it?
Why is it considered more viable compared to what other communities do to indicate sarcasm (like those who use a certain emoticon or emoji to indicate it)?
It's just curiosity.
I'm really new to reddit and my friends keep on saying "/s" after I say something. I'm really lost as to what this means. Thanks.
https://www.reddit.com/r/memes/comments/ei8kub/new_year_meme/fcoexhd/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf link to an example of this. Does it mean sarcasm? I’m too afraid to ask anywhere else.
Thanks, it does, in fact, mean sarcasm
Edit: I have been told that I could have just googled the answer but I only started either seeing or noticing it recently and when I put in /s to the r/OutOfTheLoop search bar nothing came up... thank you for a possibly unnecessary amount of answers for such a stupid question.
i've seen this a few times, it's nothing worrying but I'm now wondering what it means. they put /s at the end of their comment. is it a command?
I just read it in a post and I don't know what it is.
So I’ve been seeing descriptors near post titles that is just one letter like M,L, and S on posts on r/maliciouscompliance and r/entitledparents. I have literally NO clue what it means... and I couldn’t find anything about it online. Is it like a post category or somethin?
Hi there. I’ve been posting and mostly reading and upvoting on posts but have no idea how to do what others are doing and sometimes don’t even know what they’re talking about for instance with the \s. Where do l find advanced use? Others format their paragraphs and fonts. I want to do it too! 😉
I keep seeing this all over twitter and it’s hurting my brain trying to figure out what it means
Automod in bestof claims that they aren't useful for mobile users. I've used them and don't see any difference. What's the downside of https://www.reddit.com/r/NoStupidQuestions/s/1YXen1RYTE versus https://www.reddit.com/r/NoStupidQuestions/comments/1atv3eo/why_are_so_many_drugs_laced_with_fentanyl_if_its/kr13q7s/?context=3&share_id=QFZmigrMS61DIAWaEuhHR ?
Thanks, in advance!
I've seen a lot of people making jokes about this on Reddit recently. I searched it up and apparently, it means sarcasm, however, if you include a note that essentially says "this is sarcastic" doesn't that ruin the joke?
