Both digits are identical and look like zeros to me, but I wonder if D wouldn't look exactly the same, given how primitive the display is. I notice that there is no 00, DD or 0D in the list, so that would be consistent. I note that CPU power for this board appears to be two 8 pin connectors? I have not had a requirement for using a connector that broad for the CPU yet, but would assume them to be split 4 pin types that you have to hold together and slide in? I would triple check that all those connectors are both in correctly, and that the cable itself isn't coming out of the connector. Make sure you didn't confuse your PCI (video card) power connector, as they would look much the same. Should be marked. I hope it's something simple like this. Going through a troubleshoot process on this as to what to return, etc. would be a PITA. Answer from punkncat on forums.tomshardware.com

r/gigabyte on Reddit: X870 elite not booting with error code 00
December 18, 2024 -

Just built my new pc, but I get the error code 00 and red light on vga when trying to start it up.

What I have found so far in other posts:

  • 00 could mean CPU not found or smth, but before that the error code 15 is shown (memory bridge check), which indicates that the CPU is actually found (if I understand correctly)

  • the general advice of removing everything powering it (psu cable, CMOS battery) and leaving it overnight. Just tried it again, same issue.

  • other people had this error after flashing the bios incorrectly on older boards, but this is a new build, with stock bios (it should support out of the box).

Anyone experience with this kind of problem? And if not, do you know how I could contact support (Europe)? Thanks a lot!

Specs: Ryzen 7 9700x Fury beast ddr5 6000 30, it is supported according to the mb page Gigabyte rtx 4070 ti super Windforce (sure it works, recycled it from my previous build) Straight power 11 850W

r/gigabyte on Reddit: X570 Aorus Master - 00 code - Unable to post
December 12, 2021 -

EDIT: I ended up figuring this out in case anyone else has the same problem - turns out if you make a hardware change on this board (i.e. removing the CPU) it does not output video long enough for most monitors to detect the input and so it never works. In order to get around this; I plugged the video output into my old TV which has no timeout if video input isn't detected - display output then worked and after saving the BIOS settings it was able to boot into Windows. This also occurred with a replacement Gigabyte X570S board with a brand new 5950x and required the same steps to resolve.

I'm in the process of moving hardware across to a new case (also upgrading PSU, CPU cooler and adding RAM + another NVME M.2) and I've run into an issue where my X570 Aorus Master rev 1.2 won't POST at all and no video output works from an installed GPU. The status codes on the board only show '00' and never cycle to anything else. Everything powers on but that's about it.

So far I've tried everything I can think of; reseated CPU and GPU, switched back to an older RAM kit, tried different PSU cables, borrowed other GPUs, removed the new SSD, reset CMOS, removed CMOS battery, tried to use BIOS flashback, switched to another BIOS on the board switches, attempted Qflash Plus which didn't seem to do anything (this is where i reseated the CPU since the Qflash requires removing it). If you can think of it, I've probably already done it.

Just wondering if anyone else has run into the same problem and what the cause may have been, because otherwise the only other thing I can think of is to replace the motherboard and/or CPU.

Full specs: Case: Corsair 5000D Airflow White CPU: 5950x RAM: 64GB G.Skill 3600mhz CL14 Motherboard: Gigabyte Aorus Master X570 rev 1.2 GPU: Gigabyte Aorus 2080 Ti PSU: Seasonic Ultra Titanium 1000w Boot drive: Samsung 980 Pro 1TB; intended to install a second one Also have 2 SATA SSDs for games.

r/gigabyte on Reddit: X470 Gaming 7 WiFi + R5 2600x "Error Code: 00"
December 5, 2019 -

I'm currently building a Christmas Gift PC w/ an R5 2600x + X470 Gaming 7 WiFi.  GTX 1660 SUPER graphics card.

I'm now getting "Error Code: 00" on the debug LEDs.  When I power the system on the only thing I get is all the LEDs turning on.  No fan-spin though.

"Error Code: 00" is not a listed debug code in the manual.

Anyone have suggestions?

If you are having problems getting your mobo to post and it’s stuck on RAM make sure you have the correct type of RAM. If you have an AMD mobo you need AMD EXPO RAM. If you have Intel you need Intel XMP RAM. I had this issues on my Gigabyte Aorus Elite.

r/gigabyte on Reddit: Ab and 00 errors after resetting Platform Key in Secure Settings
October 10, 2025 -

UPDATE: Figured it out. Details below for anyone interested.

Title error: the headline for this post says "Ab" errors. This is a typo. It should read "Ad."

Hello,

I have an X870 AORUS ELITE WIFI7 motherboard in my machine. Everything was working fine until the following occurred.

While trying to enable secure boot on my system, I reset the PK (platform key) setting in my BIOS to default. It seems this was a really bad idea as the system now will not post.

I first saw an "00" error code. This changed to "Ad" on a restart, which persisted between restarts.

I reset the CMOS with a screwdriver and now I'm back to "00" codes.

Can anyone help me? I'm kind of panicking tbh.

Update: Another restart has moved the error code back to "Ad." It is now consistently giving "Ad."

Update to the update: I solved this, I am pretty sure through the intervention of the Omnissiah.

  • After resetting the CMOS again, I noticed the board went from 00 to Ad. I could not get it to go back to 00.

  • Some Googling suggested this meant the system was trying to pass to Windows and somehow failing, and that switching to a different video output might shed more light. (I really love how Gigabyte's documentation is all either out of date or useless, incidentally. Why is there no directory of their error codes online? Phenomenal stuff.)

  • I hauled the computer out to the living room and hooked up the integrated video on the computer to our HDMI TV. I saw a BIOS screen and there was much rejoicing.

  • The screen displayed an error message about a violation of Secure Boot. I was able to restart and get into the BIOS.

  • From there I was able to fiddle with the "Secure Boot" settings in the "BOOT" section. I think the problem was that I switched the mode from "Standard" to "Custom."

  • I switched this back and was able to get into Windows. To my complete shock I also found that secure boot is now enabled in Windows.

  • Why this worked I have no idea. Machines are mysterious, much like life itself. If you're reading this and in a similar situation I can only wish you good luck.

January 4, 2021 - Hi All, My Gigabyte Aorus Master is giving me a CPU error. The error code looks like 00 but is probably D0 which means CPU initialization error. The CPU LED is also lit. I thought the CPU was dead, so decided that I'd upgrade to a Ryzen 5000 and then RMA the current one.

Hi,

I have a X670E Aorus Master, I noticed that after boot my code led switches from AO to 08 and then 0E, system works fine and I can boot all good. Wondering what is wrong? I tried resetting bios default settings too and it still happens. Couldn't find any info online about these 2 codes, anyone had a similar situation?

EDIT: The errors are related to the new beta BIOS, after reverting to F13 codes dissapered.
