How do you get 4'x8' sheets home?

Get them cut down to size before you leave the store. I think Home Depot will do 2 cuts for free on their panel saw, or at least they used to. Can be a pain finding someone to run the saw sometimes, but it's better than overpaying for the 2x4 sheets. More on reddit.com

Stock birch plywood at home depot is probably around 70 bucks. Depending on the project you might be able to get something cheaper if lower quality.

If you're in South Bay, Bruce Bauer has a much better selection of plywood than Home Depot with better prices. They'll even cut it for you if you give them a drawing of where you'd like the cuts. It costs around $2 a cut and is usually ready within a day.
