Plywood Sizes Simplified | Conner Industries
September 23, 2025 - While standard plywood sizes range from ¼ to ¾ inch, actual thickness can be slightly less due to drying and sanding during manufacturing. That’s why it is important to confirm exact measurements when specifying plywood for crates or pallets.

You’ll be fine, won’t make a difference with pocket holes. Use them all the time with 23/32 which is pretty standard. More on reddit.com
1/2 in plywood suitable for kitchen cabinets
Depends what kind of hinges you'll use. Euro hinges are going to require at least 5/8" thick doors. That being said, I'd likely just use 5/8" or thicker for cabs anyway. More on reddit.com

What kind of wood would you use for drawer boxes if money were no object (I only have a few to build in my closet, so it will probably only be a few hundred extra either way)? Faces will be painted to match the cabinets.
The home construction industry uses press board which eventually fall apart specially with pots and pan drawers which I will use 3 quarter material for the sides and 3 eighths finish plywood For the bottom. On spoon drawers etc I'll use half inch poplar which is available, matches the existing and one quarter finish plywood for the bottom. More on reddit.com

Baltic Birch Plywood is unlike traditional plywood you're used to seeing. It is manufactured in the Baltic region of northeastern Europe using solid one-piece Birch veneer for each ply. The plys are cross-banded (alternating grain direction) and held together with strong interior grade glue. This results in a plywood that not only looks good but has exceptional stability and strength. Our Baltic Birch Plywood is top grade without voids or glue pockets. No added formaldehyde.

Sup guys, I need some more experienced opinions on a project I’m shopping for. My plans for a crafting desk call for 3/4 inch plywood sheets that I’ll end up drilling pocket holes into. The big orange store doesn’t sell 3/4 inch, the closest size is 23/32 inch. Are these functionally identical? Or is that 1/32 inch difference significant enough that I need to shop elsewhere? I’m using the kreg 720 jig if that matters.

23/32" is standard thickness for S1S (sanded 1 side) 3/4" plywood. They take an actual 3/4" sheet and sand off 1/32". For pocket holes it doesn't matter but if you are dadoing you will want to use a 23/32" bit/blade. There are even router bits called 3/4" plywood bits that are actually 23/32".
