You can't believe it, the issue is ... HDMI cable. I tried 3 cables and all of them are broken. After using new one from new display, problem just solved.

Single beep, no display! | Overclock.net
September 6, 2013 - A clicker will prevent a computer from POSTing any day of the week, it could even cause the single beep you speak of. Unplug it and see if your computer will POST. ... Do you have the power cable plugged in for the CPU power? If not, everything will power on, but it will not post.

New built pc no display and 1 short beep :: Hardware and Operating Systems
January 16, 2016 - Try the other way: remove the Ram, see if it that changes the beep code (it should). okay i removed the ram and the beeb changed to a long multiple beeps ... Alrighty, GPU seems to be the cause then. Steps you could do: - remove GPU, plug display into mainboard video-out, see if that works - does work? Everything besides your GPU is probably okay. - now make you sure you really plugged the GPU into the right slot, and especially that it fit's properly.

Just finished building my first pc and when I turn on the power there’s 1 long beep followed by 2 short beeps (it doesn’t repeat). My cpu fans, chassis fans, gpu fans and ram rgb all work. My components: -ryzen 7 5800x (used off eBay) -2x8 GB Corsair ddr4 vengeance rgb pro ddr4 3200MHz (used off eBay) -ASUs prime b550m-a motherboard (unopened off eBay) -rtx 2080 super AORUS (used off eBay) -msi 850w psu (used off eBay) -thermalright assassin 120x (new) cpu cooler -fanxiang 500gb m.2 (new) -benq monitor

-I don’t have any spare pc parts I can test with (only own all in one desktops) -I’ve tried taking out ram, putting one in, switching it, putting in different slots but nothing seems to work -I’ve tried reseating the gpu -all cables are connected correctly -when I connect the monitor to the gpu using either hdmi or display ports, it changes from “no cable Detected” to “no signal detected” after putting it in. I’ve made sure to select the right display menu -I tried all 6 ports on the gpu and the hdmi port on the motherboard

  • I’ve reset the clrtc pins -I can’t access bios or anything because the monitor won’t display it

Out of solutions on what to do as the user guide says nothing about error codes. Searched online and some say it’s gpu error and some say it’s ram error. Any help would be appreciated! (Besides the obvious of buying new parts)

Hello everyone. I am getting no signal and only getting one beep from my system. The system stop posting after a oc ram mistake. I have tried these, not in any specific orders.

  1. I've tried swapping cpu, memory, and motherboard. All of them bought new.

  2. I swap the psu with a old working psu.

  3. I've rebuild it outside the case.

  4. Reset cmos.

  5. Try HDMI port with a TV instead of dvi on my monitor

I've done everything I possible can do. I just want to know is it reasonable to assume that there is a issue wrong with my gpu? I really don't have extra money to fork out to buy a new gpu and test. Since I bought my gpu in the pandemic it is still returnable.

Spec Mobo: ASRock b450m pro4 -> TUF b450 plus gaming

CPU: ryzen 5 2600x -> 2600

GPU: Powercolor 5700xt

Ram: gskill ddr4 2x8 gb 3200 MHz -> olay ddr4 2x8 gb 3200 MHz

PSU: Corsair gold rated 500w -> old Corsair bronzed rated 750w

December 27, 2011 - One beep is normal. ... Yes I had it on it's side and moved it onto it's feet and now it's getting no signal o tried reseating the ram CPU and gpu and still nothing ... One short beep is normal. That means that the BIOS POST routines have checked everything they can and have found no problems.

Hi guys,

I've just completed my first build, but there is no display when connected to a monitor.
The computer makes 1 short beep which means POST was successful.
I've checked all the connections and they seem fine.
I'd appreciate your help.

Thanks!

My pc has been working perfectly fine for 4 years, ive only ever had issues with one of my d drives but i could manage through that. last night my pc turned to a black screen while i was playing fortnite and the fans went to full speed. i could still hear my friends through discord but not the game. i had to shut it off. i booted it up again and it fixed my d drive (which is where the game was installed) but then the same problem occurred as the game was about to boot into the menu. i tried booting my pc again and now it gives no signal and my mobo gives 1 long beep and 3 short beeps. people are saying it could be the psu, i should reseat my ram or gpu, but i dont really know where to start. judging from how this started, what do you guys think it might be? my bios mode is UEFI and my mobo is an ASUS prime Z490-A. GPU is a 3090 and i have 64 gb of ram. UPDATE: reseated my ram and now my mobo just shows an orange light. I changed to just have 1 ram and it shows my bios but when i start again my mobo has a red light then orange repeatedly then boots off and reboots back to the american megatrends safe mode to bios screen NEW UPDATE: I reseated the ram and it suddenly just works now? could it have just been overheating from not cleaning it in like 2 years?

June 16, 2012 - 1 Long, 3 Short Beeps. You've probably just added memory to the motherboard since this is a conventional or extended memory failure. Generally this is caused by a memory chip that is not seated properly. Reseat the memory chips. 1 Long, 8 Short Beeps. Display / retrace test failed.

Hi @rer97391 · Try a full power refresh and check if that fixes it. · Disconnect the power from the PC. · Open the case and then locate and remove the RTC coin cell battery¹ from the motherboard. · Go to p.35 (39 of 68 pdf) of the hardware maintenance manual to view the procedure to remove/replace the coin cell battery from the motherboard · Press and hold the PC Power On button operated for a full 30 seconds and then release it. · Reinsert the RTC coin cell battery (+ve on top as marked on the battery), reassemble the PC, connect power to the PC and check if it turns on OK and you can get into BIOS or if the error is still there. · If it turns on there may be a message stating that the Date and Time are incorrect. This is normal as the BIOS has been reset by the above procedure. Once the Date and Time have been corrected, the message won't appear the next time the PC is started. · ¹ When the RTC coin cell battery is out, measure its voltage. If it is <2.5V DC or if the battery is >4-5 years old, replace it. The battery model number is on the battery e.g. CR2032. If it is a CR2032, these are commonly available everywhere, e.g. supermarkets.

On a Lenovo ThinkCentre M920q, a 3 long, 1 short beep usually indicates a memory or motherboard fault. Since a new DDR4 SODIMM didn’t fix it, try this: · Reseat the RAM firmly and test one stick at a time in each slot. · Clear CMOS (remove the coin-cell battery for 5–10 minutes). · Check for bent pins, debris, or damage on the board. · Ensure the correct 65W/90W Lenovo power adapter is used. · If the beeps persist and there’s no display or BIOS access, the motherboard is likely faulty. Given the $4 purchase, board replacement may cost more than it’s worth.
