Ithe initial remodel design with an l-shaped kitchen in the dining room. To me, it would be way too cramped for an island and without an island we would have no seating in that layout. current dining room is 11x12

I haven’t designed my other “plan” for this space yet but it involves a peninsula, My wife hates peninsulas, I think one would work where the fridge is currently. The current galley Kitchen is 10 feet wide. Then Id like to open the doorway into the dining room, like the original design, and run cabinets down that wall with a 36” range to the left of the sink. Refrigerator would move where the stove is now and add some sort of pantry next to it.
