How do I maintain 12x24 tiles in my bathroom?
Maintaining ceramic or porcelain 12x24 tiles is straightforward. Regular sweeping and mopping with gentle cleaners are sufficient to keep these tiles in pristine condition. For bathrooms, it's important to address spills and stains quickly to avoid slipping hazards and maintain the tiles' appearance.
Why are 12x24 tiles recommended for bathroom renovations?
12x24 tiles are ideal for bathrooms due to their size, which allows for versatile design options and fewer grout lines. This not only creates a more seamless appearance but also simplifies maintenance and cleaning, a key consideration in bathroom environments.
Can 12x24 tiles be used on both floors and walls?
Depending on the material, 12x24 tiles are versatile enough for both floor and wall applications, providing continuity and a unified look throughout the bathroom. They are especially effective in making small bathrooms feel larger when used on the walls.

Some images of a flat layout of a 36x72 alcove shower. Keep in mind, im not a pro, and want to keep this easy as possible. The tile manufacturer suggests only using a straight stack or a 1/3 offset - not a 1/2 offset. I'm not sure what the right way to do this is, no matter what it would not be symmetrical - if that matters.
Also note on my images the green boxes are showing the dimensions of the alcove area, which is about 2 inches taller than 7ft. The previous tiles didnt look good going up to the ceiling because the ceiling isnt completely level. So i prefer terminating the tile just short of the ceilling to get a nice straight line of tile on the top row. Should this edge be capped with schluter strip also?
