Italian here: look were the local university is and buy food in places nearby in venice eat in Bacari (Italian tapas basically) I suggest ae bricoe the cheapest supermarkets are lidl, Aldi and eurospin travel with regional trains buy bus tickets in tobacco shops (the y have a big T sign outside) like locals do, not on the bus or online they are pricier.
