For Safari on macOS I have two Safari extensions, 1Password, and 1Password for Safari. There's also a 1Password for Safari.app in my Applications folder. If I launch this app it brings me to Safari settings, where the 1Password extension is enabled but the 1Password for Safari is not enabled.

Why are there two different extensions and which one is the correct one to be using?

I have been a 1Password customer since 2012 according to my email records. At that time and for probably the next 5-7yr, 1Password worked best on MacOS and with Safari browser.

But now in 2024 it feels like Safari is the worst browser to use with 1Password on both MacOS and iOS. I use 1Password all the time and because it only works about half the time in Safari on my iPad and Mac, I am forced to use another browser.

Is the Safari extension not given attention because 1Password now has more of a business focus rather than consumer and most businesses are using Chrome?

Depends on what you're experiencing. With v8, there are definitely some behaviors and workflows that I feel have gotten worse and do not work correctly compared to v7. Such as: After unlocking when using the autofill shortcut and 1Password does not recognize what website you're on(was never an issue with v7) 1P unlock window hiding behind apps instead of being in front(not a safari issue, but still) 1P wanting to show it's suggestion when it shouldn't Or even the case where the suggestion was not showing near the field on my iPhone I don't know if Chrome or other browsers are having these issues as I rarely use them, but they are definitely annoying.

Weird. Using 1P and safari on an iPhone and two different Mac’s with no issues.
