r/1Password on Reddit: Leaving current employer and company account; how to go personal?
May 9, 2024 -
I'm leaving my company and will obv. loose access to my corporate sponsored 1Password account. I've already moved all my personal stuff over to a Personal vault on the corporate account.
What's the best way to proceed? Am I basically going to sign up for a personal account and then somehow move / copy / export my personal vault over from the work account?

Update: I apparently signed up for a family account already; when I tried to log in, I got an error "Can’t sign in. The deadline to update your sign-in method has passed. Ask your administrator to begin your account recovery, then wait for an email with next steps." I can log into my corporate account just fine.

When people have "work" accounts, that's usually something set up by the employer themselves, which would mean the employee might have two accounts; their personal 1Password membership and the 1Password Teams account from their employer. In fact, this is what I myself have: a personal account for my private data, and I'm also part of the 1Password Business account for my work items.
