I’m currently managing a small team of 8 people, and we’ve been using LastPass where only 2 of us (the owners) had the paid version, while the rest of the team was on the free version. It worked well for us, as we could share individual passwords with the team, and when I updated a password, it automatically synced for everyone without the others needing paid accounts.
Recently, we’ve been considering switching due to security concerns with LastPass, and I’ve tried Bitwarden, but I’m running into some limitations. Specifically, Bitwarden requires all users to be on a paid plan to share passwords within an organization, and I’m not sure Bitwarden Send is ideal for long-term sharing since it doesn't update shared passwords automatically.
I’m looking for a more cost-effective solution that fits our budget. Has anyone had experience with alternatives like Keeper, 1Password, Zoho Vault, Dashlane, or others that would allow for secure password sharing, ideally with just a couple of us on paid accounts? We’re looking for something flexible but without needing to pay for all 8 team members.
Any advice or suggestions would be much appreciated!
*I will preface this by saying that I have reviewed what I can find on the website, and also searched this subreddit to try to answer my own question, so apologies if this is a repeat question.*
I'm new to 1Password, and enjoying it so far. I currently have need of it for sharing certain passwords with a single contractor I'm hiring to help with my website.
The Teams Plan is overkill for what I need, but I'm not sure if the Family Plan automatically gives full access to all vaults/passwords to everyone who logs in, and full administrator access to change things within the plan. (I'm hoping not, or else children could go into their parents accounts which would defeat the purpose.)
I'd rather not commit to $19.99/mo for Teams, when the Family Plan would be half of that and I do not even have a "team" with which to get my money's worth. But I'd also not like to do the Family Plan and find out that I basically gave away the keys to the castle inadvertently.
Any clarity on the difference between the plans, or insight from people who've found a solution when working with one other person, would be super super appreciated. Cheers!
