10 YOE, 602 (prev senior associate), all S, Plano $150K base + $35K bonus. Raises were always below inflation. I think it might’ve been a top-of-band problem. We were hiring people below required experience at 603 roles and I left shortly after. Something about explaining how to code to a sr lead swe felt like a slap to the face.. Promotions are impossible. I got 3 S’s three years in a row and it still wasn’t good enough. I should’ve known though. Having to “demystify promotions” is generally a bad sign.. Work here only if you don’t care about your career, you want to coast or both. I don’t know how it is in other offices but, the Plano complex is quite literally, H1B slavery. I felt like a number / body the entire time. Despite the hours, work, etc that I put in, my manager didn’t give two shits about me. Our product sucked too. No one understood what it is that we were doing and I didn’t have the will power to care enough beyond 5pm. Jamie being a tyrant sealed it for me. All the solid talent (rare) left. You’re suck with bodies that can’t do much. Copilot is not going to save you from that. More on reddit.com
