I shop for someone with a problem that seems not all that unusual. Head circumference is exactly 23 1/2". My patient bought a wig sometime back, not cheap, but not human hair. The manufacturer advertised it as "large," which I'm learning almost always means 23 1/2". It moves around his head like a hand on a sweaty joystick.
"Average" hats pop off him, literally funnel up and away from his head until they pop off. Wearing an average-size knit cap in even light winds-- There she goes! So I was so proud to find "Large/XL" bucket hats on Amazon and ordered more than one. The problem is now he looks like Yosemite Sam (if you're old enough to remember who that is :) . We're both older, and helping him into a mall yesterday, a preteen age kid said, "Nice hat!" It looked ridiculous.
Any URLs for hat sites (retailers, Amazon vendors, I don't care) where "Large" means "Won't Pop Off Your Head But Doesn't Look Like a Beer Bucket" would be much appreciated.
Thank you.
This probably gets mentioned a lot, but I can’t seem to find an answer. I purchased my first ever fitted hat and I’m not sure if I ordered the wrong size. I ordered a 7 1/2 and my head measures 23 inches. Would that be considered too big for me? What would be the ideal size?
I have no store nearby to check and see what fits best and I bought the hat online, which is risky I know.
Any help/recommendation is appreciated.
