I've had this medium queen-sized mattress from Sleep on Latex for maybe 3 years now and I've never found it comfortable. It's firm and doesn't have any give. I really feel like a need a mattress topper, but I think that they are ridiculously expensive - as are mattresses. I don't want to spend $200-300 on a topper if it feels the same as the mattress.
What would be my best bet to really give my mattress the softness and give that I would like? A soft 3" talalay?
I recently got a Serta 10" queen size mattress with 8" of really firm foam and 2" of gel foam and think I'm going to need a topper. I'm 6'2, 200 lbs and I guess I'm looking for a medium or soft topper. Amazon reviews on budget toppers always seems to show that the toppers around or under $120 only last a few months before bottoming out. I did see people saying to rotate the topper monthly so I guess that would help. I just spent $400 on the mattress so I'm thinking budget, but I could go over $150. I was eyeing a few toppers during the labor day sales, but didn't get one. I'm fine with whatever foam will be soft and reasonably durable. Any suggestions?
I'm considering a 3 inch serene mattress topper since I (120lb, 5'8) sleep on my side and its been causing shoulder pain due to a fairly hard mattress (allswell).
I was going to get the 3 inch serene mattress topper but from reviews it seems like it could be so soft that it doesn't give enough back support. Can anyone give advice about this?
I don't want to get the 2 inch and find out it doesn't give enough shoulder cushioning either
