Hi u/crimson090 , I think you can give our sofas a shot. We use more premium leather and we have a great warranty policy! Our company specializes in making leather furniture, our quality better be good if that is the only thing we sell! If things go from bad to worse, you can always return it via Costco. Our leather definitely do not peel, if they start peeling then it's a factory defect and we will replace you with a new couch free of charge while making sure the new couch does not repeat the same issue! I also suggest buying leather conditioner. It is a small investment to make to care for your leather sofa. If you are in an area where weather can get very hot and dry, leather conditioner helps restore the natural oils and moisture in the leather. We are the company that sells the Luca sofa set on Costco.
I think it's always best to request a free leather sample from us. We send out these samples pretty fast.
The color of the leather can look different under different color lights. I've seen many photos of the Luca, and it can look orange or red depending on the room. But one color they all have in common is dark brown. The Luca is definitely a dark brown couch.
If you're looking to buy a dark brown couch, then the Luca is definitely the right color.

They sometimes use a performance look-a-like leather on the back and sides where there is no contact to lower the price. It is identical though and you cannot see the difference. IKEA does the same. That said, the rest is usually top grain leather and is very good. I've had a power Costco leather sectional for over a year now and it still looks/feels new. I paid $2000 and when I was shopping around, all of the comparable were $5k-$8k. Their markup on furniture is very low. When I was looking in the warehouse, they sold out in 2 days, and then when it got back in stock, I had to go early and race to get one, they sold out again in 3 hours. The value is unbeatable for some of the leather furniture. I consider my sectional my best value purchase ever in terms of $ saved. More on reddit.com

we bought this back in the march time frame. happy with it so far. the leather on the seats definitely feels higher quality and is softer, but haven't had any quality issues with the leather on the sides or any plasticy feeling another commenter mentioned. I purchased an Abbyson Talia couch and loveseat from Costco a year ago. Unfortunately in the past month the leather has started peeling and shows a neon orange underneath, on both pieces. Costco is coming to pick them up for a refund, which is great. Definitely avoiding Abbyson but curious about another brand there, Prospera.
Oddly I can't find any information at all besides the reviews on Costco itself. Curious if anyone knows about this brand (apparently it's a trademark of Amax leather).
