So, I talked to my cabinet coach about this today. He said that it really isn't an issue as you can just put the sink flange over the sides of the cabinet walls and lay the stone over it. He said we'd just size the cabinet up enough (I believe 1 1/2") enough for the walls of the sink to fit between the carcass walls and then (if needed) I can put plywood furring strips on the inside walls of the carcass if the flange doesn't span the carcass walls). My biggest concerns of this approach are: gluing/sealing this to the stone in a watertight way, since we'd be essentially just dropping the stone on top instead of pressing it up from below to mounted stone replacing the sink if it is ever needed. whats the most durable sink we can install in our standard 36" cabinet? it has about 32 inches on either side of the built in support of the cabinet. installing undermount into a taj mahal quartzite countertop. no apron. no kit lip edges.
we've been leaning towards Blanco white silgranit sinks, but i see a lot of mixed reviews of some saying durable - others saying they chip/stain. also considered fireclay but then see posts about disaster installs due to weight needing a lot of extra support underneath, this probably is the same for cast iron/porcelain.
whats everyones take? any brands recommended?
alright, spoke to the SO. they only want a white sink. not stainless. is blanco silgranit the best? or should we look a different route.

Given that it’s undermount and not apron, does it absolutely have to be white? Because the most durable material is gonna be stainless, and Blanco makes great stainless sinks.
