As someone who owns a couple printers LCD resin printer and FDM printers as well as 2 CNC Routers I would say it depends on your goals what you would want to get. For tabletop miniatures I would highly recommend sla/lcd resin printing. You will get amazing detail from the prints with minimal effort. If you are wanting to make larger models then FDM would be a better option unless you buy a larger lcd resin printer like the phrozen printers and are willing to spend a small fortune on resin per model. A cnc router is an option using two sided 2.5d operations but you will be limited on what can be carved. If you need intricate detail with the cnc router/mill option then you jump in price and complexity pretty fast with 4/5 axis machines like the pocket nc. I personally use my LCD resin printer to print most of my minis and an FDM printer for items like scenery. I’d use my cnc router to make trays with base holes to carry my models :) More on reddit.com

Been working with maya with games for 5 years now as well as zbrush for high poly stuff. but I've recently been trying out blender and boy its a breath of fresh air, everything there feel so much simpler to do compared to maya. It took time to get used to the controls though More on reddit.com

I am trying to get into model making and resin casting with cnc mills or a 3D-Printer, like shown in this blog post, but more for plastic models and wargaming. But I also want to broaden my knowledge in cnc/cam/cad, casting and model making in general.
Due to limited shared space I am leaning after some reserach to one of these three cnc machines

I have rather limited knowledge of CAM-Technology with Reichenbacher-CNC-Mills and AlphaCAM, and no knowledge, but it "feels more home" to me than 3D printing. I was hoping that some of you could help me figuring out if a cnc mill is the right hardware of if I should do the leap of faith and learn 3d printing. It should also be availabe in the EU, so I would not have to work out customs, etc.
Maybe someone could please help me find the right hardware to start a new hobby.
