April 5, 2022 - 3M isn’t really a growth stock so not really seeing this correlation. There’s no denying macro and micro economic trends have been negatively impacted these last couple of years leading to layoffs. ... Bet you anything there are a bunch of SEC Form 4s (insider selling) filed in a week or two. ... This is entirely based on P&L my friend. Any company that flirts with being a Fortune 100 (they are 102 as of 2022) isn't just going to lay people off for their stock price.

r/Layoffs on Reddit: Company says there will be no more company-wide layoffs, should I believe it?
August 18, 2023 -

Basically the title. There were some recent layoffs, but the company is now saying this. The fact that it says "company-wide" makes me feel like it's still possible for individual teams/departments to be affected.

Should I be worried in the short to long term about this? Has anyone experienced a company saying this and then continuing layoffs anyway?
