You definitely did the right thing by not choosing Samsung, their appliances are a mess! I think the Frigidaire would be more reliable than the LG. I consider Frigidaire to be the most reliable brand now days (of course many people have different opinions and experiences, which I totally understand), but I know people who have had good luck with LG, too. We had one like this when I lived with my friend and her kids at her last house. The flex side was used as a spot for the kids to put their stuff, and it was low so they could reach it. Yogurt, their drinks, fruit, etc. The freezer was small but there was a chest freezer in the basement for most of the big stuff. The storage around the ice maker in the fridge is perfect for condiments. I am not an ice weirdo but I find myself using all three types of ice, daily, for different purposes depending on how fast I want it to melt. The freezer ice tray takes up a lot of room, but I use it so I don't want to shut it off. We use the flex drawer for beverages. I thought I would make it a freezer, but it's just too convenient for organizing drinks. I would not recommend it for people who like to meal prep, buy in bulk, or freeze meat. I do find myself having to curate things like sauces and frozen foods more than I did in my old fridge to manage space.
