Samsung can make some nice looking panels, but then they totally ruin it with their software that has advertisements chocked at you and terrible privacy policies. My Samsung TV used to contact servers overseas over 1,000 times a day until I started blocking it from the internet altogether because the advertisements were getting out of hand. Now I turn it on and go to my TV dongle input to avoid as much of their software as I can. The TV also locks up randomly or refuses to turn on until I unplug it and plug it back in. I have 4 other brands of TV's in my house and only have problems with the Samsung. Answer from txmail on reddit.com

Hello,

I am looking to buy a 43" TV for my garage and I wanted to get some opinions regarding the lineup available at Costco 43” TVs. I love Costco's customer service and return policy, so I am hoping one of these TVs would be serviceable for my garage. I actually bought the Hisense TV - twice - the first one had a dead pixel and now the second one has blown out speakers. As you would guess, I am kind of giving up on that brand for now.

I think I am between the Samsung or LG model available. I would appreciate any insight on these TVs. Doesn't need to be the world's fanciest TV, but something good for watching sports (NFL) would be particularly good. It seems like the Samsung might be the overall better model but the LG may have a brighter screen.

Take your pick. 43" models are generally pretty low-end because pretty much everyone wants 55" or larger TVs. LG typically uses IPS panels in their 43" models so the contrast will be bad on them. Brightness is unlikely to be better by a noticeable amount.

Hi Costco fans. I'm thinking about getting a new TV and seeing all the holiday deals that started this week. What is the best TV under $1000 in your opinion? I currently have Samsung and familiar with their user interface but wondering how they compare to LG?

And also is the size increase between a 65 and 75" worth 40-60% more money?

Currently I have a 10 year old Samsung 50" that I got at Costco.

I would go to https://www.rtings.com and see which TV fits your needs.

I personally prefer Samsung, I've found them to last longer. Just be careful, Tv's look smaller in the Costco than they end up looking in your house. I went in to get a $1000 75" a couple of years ago and they had an 85" for like $300 more... and I bought it... it didn't seem that much bigger in the store... It's gluttonous. It's monstrous. It's an incredible experience to watch on, but it makes me feel like an absolute heathen due to sheer size.

OP, to answer your question, anything from the QN90 line or S95 line will be the best Samsung TVs you can buy from Costco. My guess is, the complaints from people here regarding Samsung are for the lower tier lines. Samsungs upper tier are great and you can’t go wrong w the added warranty that Costco throws in w/ their TVs. I personally have had zero issues.
