43 is a tough needle to thread - I just bought one 3 weeks ago for my bedroom. My living room tv is an OLED which has spoiled me and I quickly learned that the things I wanted (full array local dimming, 120hz, Dolby vision, etc) are really only available at the 55in range unless you spend $$$. I opted for a Sony x85K becuase it was one of the only 43 in TVs with some of those specs. I think some of the new TCLs have these as well in the $400-$600 range. I’ll be honest with you - the TV is decent, but it’s not a A90K or a LG C3. It’s also maybe half the price More on reddit.com

Take your pick. 43" models are generally pretty low-end because pretty much everyone wants 55" or larger TVs. LG typically uses IPS panels in their 43" models so the contrast will be bad on them. Brightness is unlikely to be better by a noticeable amount. More on reddit.com
