Last year, u/SpanishInput published an awesome list of 5000 most common Spanish words here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Spanish/comments/uxs10w/oc_the_5000_most_common_spanish_words_calculated/
The list was useful but I wanted an easy way to study it, so I've used the Azure Translate API to translate every word and add a usage example where available. The translations/samples are not perfect but I think it's good enough to start practicing.

April 3, 2014 - You sort of have to learn the words it's trying to teach you, it doesn't accept multiple answers because the site is about memory of vocabulary. It's not like duolingo where you are interpreting sentences. It's literally a glorified flash card. 'te quiero' isn't not-American. It just means a different type of love (for example: primarily romantic love as well as familiar love = te amo, whereas te quiero = purely the affection part of love, with no sexual implication, you would say this to a child you care for, a family member, or a friend as well as someone you romantically love, for example).

¡Hola!
after finishing the book called "a frequency dictionary of spanish" by Mark davies which lists 5,000 words and a few other books, I'm looking for a bigger list that doesn't need to have English translations. I've tried to search reddit and other places but couldn't find anything. I'm actually considering to flat out buy the oxford dictionary linked below and grind words from there but I do want to get the most bang for my buck, hence a frequency list.
Where can I find a good frequency list of the 10,000 most used words or other big frequency lists?

I googled and found some resources. I looked into getting more actual frequency dictionaries but man it’s expensive. I’ll see if I can find the frequency lists again (hopefully bookmarked but 🤷♀️ Edit: added link http://frequencylists.blogspot.com/2016/05/the-8600-most-frequently-used-spanish.html?m=1

There is an online collection of various frequency lists in different languages, maybe try here, https://wortschatz.uni-leipzig.de/en/download/Spanish If you don't mind a bit of post-processing of the words.

I just got back from a 3 month trip to Latin America. I have been able to hold hour long conversations with people in Spanish, which I attribute to the words I've learned from this deck. Even though I have a ~5000 word vocabulary, my listening is still garbage and I have to ask my conversation partner to speak slowly. However, I can pretty much get any message across. If you decide to use this deck, there are some weird 18+ images on here: just a warning.
