I just bought a 5800x3d, but I noticed that this cpu does not come with a cooler. I tried looking up which one to get on YouTube but they gave me mixed answered on the cooler that I should get. So do any of y’all have any good cooler recommendation?

Hello, I am choosing a cooler for my 5800x3d, because it is getting to 90 degree under my tiny cooler, and I have found 4 options.

1. Be quiet dark rock pro 4

2. Noctua nh-d15

3. Be quiet silent loop 2 240mm

4. Deepcool lt 520

They cost about the same, but I need to buy used coolers and new water cooling systems. Also, I am afraid of water cooling, because it may be dangerous for my PC. What would you suggest?

I wanted to ask whats the best cooler for this CPU. ( i want to be my CPU fine while doing heavy gaming) .

Aiming at the be quiet dark rock pro 4 cooler, good choice or are there better ones?

I have an average cooler right now Arctic a35. Gaming temps seem a Bit high. They are 80 to 84. I want to stay Air cooles any suggestions?

So, recently decided to go back to an air cooler from a 420mm Arctic liquid freezer 2. I felt like since I wasn't over clocking (you can't on that chip) I figured I'd remove the variable of an eventual leak or pump malfunction. I was going to just save the cooler for when I make the jump to AM6 since those are going to be more power hungry I'm sure.

Before vs after and I cleaned up the cables a tad more.

Did I make the right choice or it doesn't really matter?

Hello everyone! Looking to upgrade my current Ryzen 2700X CPU to the 5800X3D. My understanding is that I will need a better CPU cooler than the stock cooler on the 2700x. I am running the stock Wraith Prism cooler on the 2700X.

I have no experience with AIO coolers, but I am open to the idea if it beneficial to my system. Basically, looking for others' opinions on what the best CPU cooler for the 5800X3D is.

I am not ready to build out an entire new system on the AM5 platform just yet, so I am looking to squeeze more life out my current build. I will be upgrading my GPU at some point in the near future as well.

Update: Have been running the 5800X3D for a few weeks and am thrilled with the upgrade. I swapped out the Wraith Prism cooler for a Deepcool AK620 when I did the switch. Temps are very reasonable and I'm glad I went with the Deepcool. Thanks for the suggestions everyone!

This is going to be quite long so apologies in advance. I'm planning a T1 V2 sandwich build but seem to go be going round in circles trying to choose a cpu cooler. I could use the advice of some people with experience building in this case, hopefully with the components that I am planning to use.

I currently have a 3950x in an NR200p max, but I'm downsizing and switching to a 5800x3d because I will only be gaming on this machine now. The other parts that I will be moving over are:

(I have not yet bought the cpu or a cooler. All the other parts are in hand)

My gpu is 2.7 slots, so that leaves me with either 53 or 58mm of cpu cooler clearance. If anyone has this card and can advise me on how bad the noise from the turbulent air is, that would be very helpful!

For the cpu, I would prefer to go air-cooled. This is where my problems started. Firstly I have one of the cursed MSI motherboards that has components on the back and therefore a non-standard backplate, making it incompatible with some coolers. Most notably this rules out the L9a because the solution is to use plastic spacers instead of a backplate which i think, given how important mounting pressure is, would reduce performance. I suppose I could take a saw to the noctua backplate, but I worry that might still affect the cooler.

The blackridge will not fit, and the IS-55 is a bit unknown as it's hard to work out whether the fin stack will fit over the vrm heatsink on the motherboard (it will not fit over the RAM). If i was sure it did I would probably go for that one.

From the recommended coolers, this leaves me with the thermalright axp90-x47 and x53. From what I can gather there are a few versions of each of these but it boils down to having a copper or aluminium fin stack. Again from reading around it seems like performance wise the order is: x53 copper > x47 copper > x53 alu > x47 alu. Does anyone have experience with these? Specifically the difference between the x53 alu and x47 copper. My preference would be the x53 copper and I did actually order one on aliexpress last week but it was cancelled as they are out of stock. I now can't see it anywhere. There are some other thermalright coolers like the axp90R and axp100 full copper but they are either not available anywhere or £100 in the UK for the axp100 which seems a bit mental.

The only other realistic contender that I have found is the be quiet pure rock lp, but it's only rated for 65W and its hard to work out how far above that you can go because I dont see many reviews for it comparing it to anything other than the L9a (against which it is marginally worse) and never on a 5800x3d or something capable of more than 65W.

Given that the IS-55 probably will not fit, and the x53 copper versions are not available anywhere, I think my best bet is to go for the x47 full copper, followed by the x53 alu then the pure rock lp and finally the x47 alu. Does this sound correct? Would I gain much performance/noise wise vs one of the cheaper AIOs? (Would rather avoid this due to reliability/ pump noise issues, but a small air cooler might be noisier). Thanks!

I just have the stock 3600 cooler atm, i ordered a better cooler but my temps hardly ever go beyond 70 degree, mostly sit at like 60 when gaming. I might have to get a new case the fit my cooler but do i even need to install it?

Just picked up a 5800x3d this last weekend and now I’m at a crossroads in respects of what to cool it with. I’ve been tossing around the following options: Deepcool AK620, Thermalright Peerless Assassin SE ARGB (because rgb=more frames), Noctua NH-D15S (or the chromax black variant for that matter), and the Deepcool Assassin 3. With pretty much all of these options, I’d have to either raise the front fan, or switch to a pull-pull configuration on the cooler(s). Both due to ram clearance, Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro (which I believe has a height of 51mm). I also came across the Thermalright Frozen Notte aio, but the ridiculously low price has me skeptical about its performance. I’d probably go with the 360mm option if I got that. What’s everybody’s opinions and experience with any of the above mentioned coolers? I’d probably prefer to stick with a tower cooler, but I wouldn’t be against an aio. I know the Arctic Liquid Freezer 3’s have a good reputation and price as well.

Edit: my case is a Corsair 4000D Airflow so my max cooler height is 170mm.

I am upgrading from 3700X to and 5800x3D to pair it with a 7800XT. I am looking for a cooler for this cpu. My current cpu cooler, the wraith prism shouldn't be sufficient from what I have read and I would rather just buy a new one to be safe.

I have been looking for a while on this subject and I was suprised by the size of some of the suggested coolers. My case is the ThermalTake View 37 Riing Edition.

My requirements are:

• not covering the RAM

• RGB

• small size, similar to wraith prism

Hello, I need some help picking out a cpu cooler for my 5800x3d in a new case I'm getting, I've been getting some mixed opinions online so I just wanted to see if any one has had to cool a 5800x3d with a sff cpu cooler and have had no problems with throttling.

Edit: After some more research and talking to people within the community, I think the Thermalright AXP120-X67 fits my needs best for height clearance and the best performance for it's height.

Looking for best combination of performance and noise level

Hi, so my AIO pump has failed and looking to go air cooler as this is the second one to fail on me now. My issue is I have 4x Corsair vengeance RS ram which are 45mm height. I was looking at both noctua NH-D15 black or dark rock pro 5 but both have clearance issues. Without having to change ram what coolers would you guys suggest? I like to parts to stay cool

I currently have a ryzen 5 5600x with a Corsair h60 aio cooler which only has one fan. Been wanting to upgrade my cpu to a 5800x3d but I’ve seen reviews saying it gets toasty do you guys have any recommendations?

I currently have a Ryzen 3700X and want to drop in a 5800X3D (or 5700X3D if the performance is about the same). Which air cooler would work best? I have a O11 Dynamic if that helps with the dimensions.
