I got the top at 40% off and want to install it. I plan to notch the two studs on each side of the wall to make it fit. My question is it advisable to have the quartz vanity top sit on top of the notches or it’s a no no due to wood expansion?
61 inch vanity top in a 60 inch space
Putting in a 61” quartz double sink vanity top in a 59.5” wall space.
How to make a 60” bathroom vanity work between two walls that are 63” apart?
I'm looking to replace a vanity in a bathroom with regular height cabinets and a double sink.
I had no issues finding a double sink vanity base that was 60 inches wide and 34.5 inches tall, but finding a matching top is much more difficult. Everything I'm finding is 61 inches wide, which I assume is for a stand alone vanity (1/2 inch overhang on each side).
I can get a custom countertop made from a kitchen and bath place, but that's going to cost over 1k.
The actual width of the space is 60.5 inches.
Can I make the 61 inch work somehow? Cut out a strip of drywall on each side? Cut a half inch off each side of the vanity top (would be either laminate or solid surface)?
