German numbers and what you need to know | Lingvist
Here we will provide you with a handy overview of German numbers 1-100 and beyond. Let’s start right with the basics and the first numbers you will ever need to know. Next up are the numbers 11 to 20. As you can see, numbers 13 to 19 are close to the English numbers in the sense that, for example, four is followed by ten, making it fourteen.
B2 in 7 months?
It is absolutely possible. And if you know how, surely also without the help of a teacher. THE PROBLEM But there lies the problem. You would need to organize yourself first and constantly evaluate your learning until you are sure you are working very efficiently. If you need to learn fast, get a tutor that provides you with a plan, material and that answers all your questions in a reasonable time. There is no software course out there that will help you learning at that speed. Use memrise to learn vocabulary and learn the association technique that they promote. It is called keyword or linkword technique. VOCABULARY Reaching B1 sets the grammatical base and requires you to understand ~2.800 words. B2 adds another ~2.400 words to this. So you'd have to learn ~5.200 words in seven months or 5.200w/7m/30d=~25 words per day. And that only if you do not forget. So to be save you can add 25% to that number resulting in ~30 words per day for 7 months, every single day. PLUS OTHER STUFF In addition to that of course you will have to acquire many other things and skills. Of which the writing of letters for that exam you are aiming at is usually one of the more difficult of tasks. You will need a native speaker to correct those. Check lang-8 to find such to help you with your purpose. SPEAKING Then until B1 you would not be able to speak about much but still need to practice pretty focussed in the direction of the exams (btw check telc.net or search for Goethe B1 model exam for samples of what to expect). Finding a skilled and also interesting language exchange partner usually is also pretty time consuming. That's why I recommend to pay people to speak with you. italki might be a good start. STEEP LEARNING CURVE FROM B1 TO B2 The gap between B1 and B2 is usually extremely steep and not few learners groan under the load of new words and fixed expressions (noun-verb-connections etc., prefixed verbs). You will experience that German becomes a lot more abstract from then on. That's why schools give you one whole extra month to pass that level compared to A1, A2 or B1. THE STANDARD AT LANGUAGE SCHOOLS Consider that schools estimate 9 months to reach B2 if you took intensive classes, i.e. 3h daily + 90mins homework. That makes ~810 hours or 1.080 lessons for the average student. If you worked at the same efficiency, you would have to scram that in your seven months meaning a daily learning time of ~5.75 hours. Luckily learning on your own can be much more efficient than learning in a group but usually only if you are a very experienced, well-structured and disciplined language learner already. SUGGESTIONS I can only suggest that you look for a tutor that you feel great with. Don't go for less as you are about to start a very emotional journey (in both directions) and you will need good companions to get through this. But who knows, maybe you are a quick and autonomous learner and make it on your own. Regarding the material I can recommend reading some of my other posts on reddit where I extensively have mentioned the good stuff already sufficiently. I wish you success with your plans. August 26, 2022 - German numbers are pretty straightforward, but they differ from English in one way. Instead of the tens coming before the ones (ninety-seven), the ones come before the tens (siebenundneunzig, or literally “seven-and-ninety”). The word und in the middle is German for “and,” which comes up a lot in numbers.
