I've been lurking here for a while and I'm in love with the 70% build. What companies have a good representation for smaller keyboards?

I’ve been considering building my first mechanical keyboard, but from what I’ve noticed from the group buys people have, they don’t seem interested in getting something bigger than 70%. I know you I could customize a pre built 100% mechanical keyboard, but why do some of you guys choose to go lower than 100%?
Title. I had a rk61 but 💦 ⌨️ =⚠️. Would very much prefer no smaller than 60% however I do NOT need something massive with a number pad🙏😭. Thanks!
Hello, me and my brother are trying to make YouTube videos for our channel and while editing we can hear me and his keyboard, so I need to try and get a quieter one. I tried finding ones and looking at YT videos and they aren't quiet enough, fine with like 70 to 75%, i just want one that doesn't have the num-pad but still has the arrow keys. Thank you for anybody that can leave recommendations.
How many keys does a 70% keyboard ⌨️ have I was trying to buy switches to build a 70% keyboard I was trying to find out how many keys my keyboard will have
Are there any cases or pcbs that support a 70% design. I want a smaller keyboard than tkl but don’t want to leave the arrow keys or the dedicated delete key. I’ve looked at the RK71 but I would rather have linear switches
Hi, getting into building a keyboard for my SO, and they like the 70% layout. Is there any keyboard (barebone) that y'all would recommend using? I see that there is this one Keychron V7 QMK Custom Mechanical Keyboard but is there any other one that isnt translucent , cost really doesn't matter as long as it's not really expensive.
hello i am going to buy a new mechanical keyboard and i have a budget of 70 dollars. my criteria is red or brown switch. waiting for your advice.
Hey everyone!
I’m in the market for a 65% or 75% keyboard strictly for gaming. I already have a Logitech MX Keys for work and daily use, so this board would be my secondary keyboard focused on gaming performance.
Because of that, low latency is a must — the Logitech has noticeable input lag and just doesn’t cut it for fast-paced games. I want something snappy and responsive.
My budget is around $80, but I can stretch it to $100 if there’s something really worth it.
That said, it would be a nice bonus if the keyboard is also at least decent for typing — nothing too mushy or fatiguing if I need to use it for casual writing or chat between games.
There are tons of options out there and I’m honestly overwhelmed trying to decide.
If you were in my shoes, what would be your top 3 picks for this kind of use?
Thanks a lot !
I know, "better" is subjective. But if you can get the BEST keyboard out of the two layouts, which one would you go with?
I've never understood why there are still plenty of people who ask for 65% keyboards when 75% is only slightly bigger in width while it offers WAY more keys on the top and two keys on the side (or one key + knob). I'm really asking out of curiosity.
So I have a 70% keyboard (without numpad), is there a way to use numbad features on this keyboard? Thanks
I'm in market of buying a new keyboard, and decided to go with Anne Pro, but then I realised I might wanna try something bigger with arrow keys (not TKL). My budget is up to $80-90, and it would need to have Cherry/Gateron Reds and should be backlit.
Since my country sucks when it comes to stuff like this (Croatia), I'll have to buy online. If possible not used since I don't have that much time to stalk them.
EDIT: IT would be awesome if it would have ISO layout but I can live w/o that.
Drevo Gramr is one possibility that fits under your budget constraints, but it has a strange bottom row, so getting replacement key caps will be difficult.
Alternatively, you could consider the KBD75, which would be my recommendation, though it will be higher than your available budget.
The cheap stuff online will be ANSI only, not ISO.
Probably Drevo Calibur / Keycool 71, but they don't have Cherry/Gateron switches. In fact, most 75% keyboards don't use Gateron or Cherry switches.
Drevo Excalibur is a 75% with OPTIONAL Cherry switches, but it's closer to $100 USD, and shipping it to Croatia will cost more.
Hey, I've been using a 60% keyboard for a while now for gaming. But after a while its been a hassle not being able to do things you could with a normal one. Some commands require pressing 3 keys at once but It is impossible with a 60%. I was looking at 70% keyboards and have been looking at this Ajazz AK33 one. I'm planning on getting it but I wanted some of your opinions on some good 70% mechanical keyboards!
What's your hot take on 75% keyboards?
Do you prefer 60%?
What are the benefits with wired vs wireless?
Competitively, wired or wireless?
Let's discuss
Hello all, How are you all doing? When it comes to keyboard size I am fan of 60% mechanical keyboards. What is your preferred size/why? Ducky Mini 3 is my daily driver & use it for gaming.
I'm 75% gang, but recently I've been looking at the 60% ones and how perfectly short they are, and the looks but I never got one since I might not be able to live without dedicated arrow keys. Then I though, what if I "fuse" 60% and 75%? I decided to use my paint skills so I can picture that. I doubt I'm the first one on thinking about something like this. The right cmd or right ctrl could be Fn or something else.
Note: this is not a 65% keyboard, because those have an extra column at the right
Note: A "67.5%" could be possible if we chopped the the Fs row.
Hi,
At the moment I have a some random membrane keyboard. It works, but it's way too big and I always wanted to try out mechanical keyboards, so I'm trying to get into it.
My budget isn't really high, but if there aren't really good choices for this price, I can just save up more.
I'm think something with silent as possible switches would be great, so I don't wake my girlfriend at night, but if not possible at this price range, then it's fine, but having a hot-swappable one would be good then.
These are the choices I'm looking at right now, which one would you recommend or is there any better choices?
AJAZZ AK820 MAX
S-K80
AULA F87 PRO
K86
I don't really care if it's wireless, has a display with a knob, but if it's there, even better then. Thank you in advance!
