Pretty much the title. I bought an E7Plus standing desk frame from flexispot and it arrived a couple of days ago. I've been looking forever for a top that is 72 x 30 in real wood, or something solid would do the trick at this point.
All desks I am looking at are 24/25/26 inches in depth, which is too shallow for me, or either 39", which is too deep (and I don't have anything to cut it back to 30")
Ikea desks have honeycomb pattern inside, and I don't want that...
Home Depot, Rona, Wayfair, global industrial, uplift, Uline, Amazon... Everything is either wrong size, too pricey, or 200$ shipping.
I don't know where to look anymore, any tips for good deals lately in that dimension ?

Been having the exact same problem all week over here (Quebec). I finally gave up on regular stores and I looked on marketplace and found 2 listings about custom tabletops/butcherblocks in my area and messaged them. First one quoted me 450 for a 70" by 30" slab that I'd have to glue myself (fuck that). 2nd quoted me around 500 for 1" 5/8 thickness but only around 250$ for a 1" Cherry wood slab. Paired with a set of 250$ VIVO legs from amazon and I should end up with a 2000$ desk for around 600 with taxes. 1" should be plenty considering the legs have a crossbeam. So definitely ask around your local woodworking shops but make sure they're reputable and know what they're doing. Also don't hesitate to ask for the cheapest option/wood essence, and the thickness makes a huge huge huge difference in price as you can see.

Does anyone know of a good/any brand for a 70”x30” desk that is under $500. We always see the Karlby with Alex drawers, but the IKEA near me is out of the Walnut Karlby and the black Alex drawer set. I prefer everything being black, but I’m not ruling out dark wood stains (dark laminate).
I don’t need a stand up desk (read: don’t want to pay extra for a feature I won’t use). I need it to be this big because I have a 34” widescreen and a 24” monitor. Also, one side will be set up with flight sim equipment, while I’m wanting to other side to use normally and potentially add racing sim equipment. I’m planning to put both monitors on mounts attached to the desk so I can move the 34” from side to side for when playing the flight sim vs not.

Get a measured slab from Lowe’s or Home Depot. You can buy one online for Lowe’s and get it shipped to your house if you want.

In the same situation. It’s difficult to find something the right size. Pretty much all the ikea ones are only 25” depth. But I found one from ikea that’s 74x42 and was just going to cut it down to 74x32. I know I’m going with the Jarvis standing frame, just don’t see any other options for the tabletop.
