French Numbers and Counting: 60 to 99 - Lawless French Number Lesson
January 1, 2025 - Likewise, there’s no word for “eighty” in standard French.* The French say quatre-vingts, literally four-twenties.** So 81 is quatre-vingt-un (four-twenty-one), 82 is quatre-vingt-deux (four-twenty-two), etc.

Really stupid question about numbers.
Definitely 100% "soixante-et-onze", just like "vingt-et-un" and "quarante-et-un". Nothing regional about it, nobody ever says *"soixante-onze" ever. For some reason, though, it's "quatre-vingt-un" and "quatre-vingt-onze". More on reddit.com

August 6, 2025 - Instead of saying Septante (which you can in Switzerland and Belgium), you say soixante-dix (sixty-ten or 60+10) in most French-speaking countries. When counting 71 to 79, you would add Soixante to the corresponding teen number.

3 weeks ago - Numbers from 60-99 are counted in measurements of 20, instead of the regular 10. And there are some irregular number patterns to learn for this bracket of numbers. Here are the ones that you need to learn: 70 is "Soixante-dix," which translates to "sixty-ten." 71 to 76 are created by adding the numbers 1 to 9 after "soixante-dix."
