I had the same trouble. Almost all the minimalist ones are to small where the tv is wider than the console which is weird looking I settled on the admiral blue Hollis media console from West Elm. I have the wires running behind the wall into the back of the media console. For the AV stand, the wood I originally got was a little soft, easy to indent or dent. Planks are also limited to about 11-12" deep unless. you get some bespoke cuts of wood straight from a specialized dealer (I considered this, but can be very expensive). But I found this company (Hardwood Lumber Company - Kitchen Applications & Stair Parts) that does custom size floating shelves and steps.
