The I-95 express lanes have a "mid-day revision" to the reversal schedule, where you have to be north of VA-123 (Prince William Pkwy?) by the start of the reversal time.
How is that working, or are they actually doing it?
I live near the mixing bowl in Springfield and I’m genuinely curious about the logistics of how the lane directions change on the Express lanes. For example: Do those barrier arms go down automatically or manually? Is the road essentially shut down to all traffic for a period of time while the lanes switch? Do they somehow verify that no cars are left on the road going the opposite direction?
Anyway I’ve lived in this area for 10+ years and today I saw the barrier arms down for both directions so it got me wondering about it again.
