Hi guys, I see most people here roll with 59fifties (fitted), I personally been a 9fifty guy since I was a kid. Is there a reason why many of yrl prefer 59fifties, I mean is there an added advantage that I don’t know of?

Both are good, but fitted hats are hard to collect. You may have to try 10 of the same size on before you get the correct one, because they’re hand stitched and they will all fit differently, even though they’re the supposed “same size”. The fitted hats do have a timeless look, but then again so do the snapbacks. They have a nostalgic appeal, and a lot of the rap and rock artists made them famous in the late 80s and early 90’s. They have more street flavor, and they’re much easier to collect. Fitted MLB hats are more popular in the US. Overseas, not as much. Both styles are good, and I have both, but I think I prefer 9Fifty because they’re a little cooler In hot weather. I can adjust with hair style changes and cuts if need be, and when I order online, I automatically know it will fit. It’s literally 90% the same hat as the 59Fifty, with only the back being the difference. Thickness, material, logo thread counts are all the same.

I like them both. My collection is small but growing (probably about 6 caps and a few other New Era hats, winter hats/bucket hat). Most of them are 59fifty and I will give those the edge because they fit well and are a classic cap IMO (plus a lot of the limited runs that I think are cool are not available in 9fifty). However, I have bought a couple of 9fiftys (only 2 now) and will continue to do so for some hats. If you're not looking at the back you won't even notice and it's an option to give to friends/family members to borrow if they go to Yankee games with me and don't have a Yankee hat of their own.

July 22, 2021 - The full crown produces a tall profile similar to what the 59fifty features. The visor is also flat. You can curve the visor if you wish. The plastic snapback feature or the strap design may feature the same color as the rest of the hat.

I have 9-10 9seventys now. Love them. There’s a few different styles with them, trucker, golf type, cotton and dri fit sort of thing. Really loving them to be honest. There is a little blurb on their snapbacks homepage. In the middle there you can click through 6 pages that explain things, sorta - hope that works for you. Based on the on the "original fit" I figure you will want somehting like a high crown not mid or low to match it.

I buy exclusively 59fiftys - I like the high crown and I like authentic on field fitteds, which are 59fiftys, but I work in the heat at work in the summers and sweat a lot so I was looking at a 9Seventy trucker because why not, they look interesting. How do they compare to each other?

You should try the spring training 5950s or even the mesh snapbacks. Just as a recommendation since you mentioned you like the look of the 59fifty but want something better for hot weather. I recently bought a spring training 5950 Dodgers hat and use it to go running, hiking, and biking when it's sunny and it's done really well even with a lot of sweat.

Can someone explain the difference between the "original fit" 9fiftys and the non-original ones?
I have a snapback that is "original fit" and it fits great. The crown isn't too high and I'm able to wear it without crushing my ears. I bought it at the Packers Pro Shop in Green Bay, so there was no description for it like there would be online. I went online to look for more like this, but some say "high crown" (like the regular 9fiftys) while some say "mid crown". I ordered a mid crown one thinking that's what my Packers one was, and it was way too small for my head. So I assume the high crown is what I'm looking for.
Is there any real difference between a high crown "original fit" snapback and a regular 9fifty, other than the brim shape?
Apologies if my question isn't clear.

I think it has to do with the shape and rise of the crown. I am a 7 3/4 and find that the original fit ones do not fit me, and nor do Mitchell and Ness, which are also supposed to be a classic shape.
