Why Christina Ricci Is Giving Up Ownership Of Wednesday Addams
Honestly it would be kind of insane for Ricci to feel ownership over the character. She wasn’t the only Wednesday Addams and she wasn’t even the first. If I think Wednesday Addams, absolutely, I think of the Ricci version as my instant association but my parents grew up watching the live action tv show so their instant association with the character will probably be Laura Loring. There’s younger people that probably associate Jenna Ortega with the character. If we’re talking a big well known character that was only played by one person for a long time (I’m thinking Indiana Jones as an example) then sure, it would it would be reasonable for the actor to feel like there’s ownership in that legacy because all eyes are going to be on that actor if someone else gets cast as the character. Christina Ricci's John Wick Replacement Movie Everyone Slept on Is Blowing Up on Streaming

“It really is different than what I was doing,” Ricci told THR of how Ortega has interpreted the role. “The last time I played this part, I was 12. I’m now 44 years old, so I don’t have a feeling of ownership over the character the way that I think some people might imagine.”

Not ownership. But she was the best and she will always be remembered as Wednesday. Like Mark Hamill is Luke Skywalker. So yeah i would have loved to see her atleast as a Family member of the Addams Family....
