Was an in-joke between my wife and I too. Whenever she recognized that she was overreacting to something, she’d say “I pierced the toast!” ... It matters if the role is calling for a straight male to play it. He was almost there by being chubby. But sorry to say, Nathan Lane is not the sort of actor who excels at playing straight characters.
