Nathan Lane Lost Out on ‘Space Jam’ Role Because Director Thought He Was ‘Too Gay to Play the Part’
I remember how Oprah tried to invade his privacy on her show, and Robin Williams had to step in, and he was so distracting that it actually worked. It's sad to read about those stories. But I will be forever grateful for him being in the birdcage with Robin. That is one of my forever favourite movies. Sincerely Skeletor 💜 More on reddit.com

It matters if the role is calling for a straight male to play it. He was almost there by being chubby. But sorry to say, Nathan Lane is not the sort of actor who excels at playing straight characters.
