Stuart Wilson (born 25 December 1946) is an English actor known for his work in film, television, and stage.2 He was born in Guildford, Surrey, to an RAF family, which led to him attending thirteen different schools due to his father's military service and subsequent work as a mining engineer in Rhodesia.35 He moved to London in the mid-1960s and trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA), graduating in 1969.58

Wilson began his career in British theatre, performing with the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC), the Royal Court Theatre, London's West End, and various regional and fringe productions, including at the Bush Theatre.25 His first major television role was as Johann Strauss II in the 1972 ITV drama The Strauss Family, where his character aged from 14 to 74.35 He went on to appear in numerous British television series, including I, Claudius, The Sweeney, The Pallisers, Anna Karenina, The Jewel in the Crown, Prime Suspect, Spooks, and Midsomer Murders.246 +1

In the late 1980s, Wilson transitioned to Hollywood, where he became known for his villainous and supporting roles in major films.2 His notable film appearances include Lethal Weapon 3 (1992) as Jack Travis, The Age of Innocence (1993) as Julius Beaufort, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III (1993) as Walker, Death and the Maiden (1994) as Geraldo Escobar, The Rock (1996) as General Al Kramer (uncredited), Enemy of the State (1998) as Congressman Sam Albert, The Mask of Zorro (1998) as Don Rafael Montero, and Hot Fuzz (2007) as Dr. Robin Hatcher.245 +1 He also appeared in Vertical Limit (2000), The Luzhin Defence (2000), and Marauders (2016).2

Wilson has continued to work in both film and television, including roles in MI-5 (2002) and stage productions such as Antony and Cleopatra with the RSC in 2002.58 He is married to Courtney Pledger, whom he wed in 1990, and they have three children.2 As of 2026, he remains active in the entertainment industry.2
