I don't care what you say - fight me - Timothy Hutton is a g*ddamned treasure and he made Leverage. Yeah it's an ensemble cast, and 100% they are all awesome, but just like the pilot, he's the glue
There is an entire industry in Hollywood for all of this sexual exploitation behind closed doors, that everyone is aware of. That 14 year old girl, wasn't 'accidentally' there, nor did Timothy Hutton go grab her off a street, or even request it. More on reddit.com
What happened to/during Timothy Hutton's leading man career in the 80s that caused him to drop off into supporting roles/tv?
As far as I understand his movies where he was the lead weren't earning enough. That being said, Ordinary People and The Dark Half are two of my favorite movies. More on reddit.com

Actor Timothy Hutton was only 19 years old when he earned an Academy Award for his very first feature film, Robert Redford's flinchingly resonant family drama "Ordinary People" (1980). His acclaimed performance set the stage for a string of follow-up dramas, where he lent a furrowed brow to intelligent and driven young adults whose idealism often led them to dark territory.

March 21, 2025 - Timothy Hutton is a 'creep' because underage girls (what his awareness of this is questionable), were brought to him, to 'entertain' him.

I know him best from years of watching him on Leverage but not too long ago I was watching Taps and of course I was surprised to see a young Sean Penn and Tom Cruise but also surprised to see Hutton having a bigger role than both. For those who recall, what brought down his leading man career? Because he seems (from his filmography at least) to have been a big star in the first half of the 80s and was the go-to 20 something male lead before Cruise and Penn started gobbling up those roles.

look at his IMDB page. https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000459/ 2008-2012 did 77 eps of a tv show. lot more TV after that. tv is more of a "9 to 5" job. go to studio. shoot. go home. pickup the kids from school and start dinner. maybe he didn't want to spend months away from home on location living in hotels doing movies all the time.
