He probably does. But at the end of the day he shot them in the back as they were fleeing out a window. I'd hope hardly anybody would think that's acceptable and proportional, but then again I know I'm having far too much faith in people.

Obviously you can't go around shooting people, especially in the back at night while they're running away from you, but I can still empathize somewhat with Tony Martin. The man had been regularly burgled, and living as remote as he did, the police were never going to be effective. I can only imagine the frustration, anger and hurt the man must have felt when he released he was being burgled again, and how hopeless he must have felt. If you've been burgled before, you know the damage is less what they take, and more the emotional toll it takes on you. Now imagine that happening repeatedly, with no recourse to stop it happening again. I suspect the grabbing of the gun was a very bad heat of the moment decision, and one he paid for. You can't let people get away with shooting someone in retaliation, but at the same time I do wonder what I'd do in that situation. More on reddit.com

April 8, 2013What do you think of the Tony Martin-era?
I really like Tony's voice, and Sabbath recorded some great songs with him. I think it's to Sabbath's credit that there's so much fantastic material in their catalogue before and after Martin was in the band that that era gets overlooked, which is kind of a shame.
