So yesterday i did a test boot with the GPU PSU CPU and RAM, i had a hdmi cable from the gpu to my tv and when i turned the power on, i got a black screen on the tv instructing me to install an OS. Great its working.

So then i built everything into the case, connected everything up including HDD, SDD, all the ports etc etc and when i booted i got an A9 error code which according the the MOBO manual is "BIOS setup is started" but nothing appears on my tv screen. i called a friend over and we tried everything we possibly could. disconnected the GPU and tried the integrated graphics on the MOBO still nothing. disconnected the HDD, SDD etc leaving essential what i had in the test boot, still nothing. Nothing appears on the screen and i gt the same A9 error code.

Since the mobo wasnt displaying any error codes due to the CPU or RAM as the error codes were getting past all that during the boot up until it hit the A9 error code. So we figured it must be the MOBO,, i return the mobo.

I got a new mobo today, did another test boot with just MOBO, CPU, RAM and just the integrated graphics. Booted and same problem, i get up to the A9 error code "BIOS setup is started" i have no idea what to do now, im a noob at this :/

Can anyone help?

Google is your friend. Its much faster and more accurate than asking randos on reddit. https://www.asus.com/support/FAQ/1043948 If CODE is A9,it means the computer has entered into BIOS If the monitor is abnormal, please follow below steps to troubleshoot: a.  Please make sure monitor is powered on normally and check the indicator light of monitor is on to ensure the power cable of the monitor is connected correctly. Make sure the external power cable is powered on normally. Please try to switch on, switch off, check if monitor can display. If you switch off and switch on the monitor, monitor shows ''no signal'', it indicates the monitor is powered on normally. b. Confirm that the signal cable(VGA/DVI/HDMI/DisplayPort) is correctly connected to the monitor, also confirm that the other end of the signal cable is connected to the display output (graphics card) of the computer. Try to re-plug the two sides of the display cable and confirm that all pins are not bent. c. Confirm that the display output of the monitor is correct. For example, if it currently connected to the computer via HDMI interface , you should choose the display output of the monitor as HDMI display output. d. Replace the same kind of cable (VGA/DVI/HDMI/DisplayPort) to re-test e. Connect the monitor to another computer, confirm output of the monitor is normal to eliminate monitor problem 2. If the monitor can display BIOS,please follow Troubleshootings for Boot up device abnormal , comfirm if the hard disk or SSD is abnormal

After scratching my head for days/weeks trying to to figure out the issue, it appears that using Q-Flash+ in single BIOS mode leaves the board in some transition state where it wants to flash the backup BIOS but cannot switch, and because of that the board exhibits extremely erratic behavior until you set it back to Dual-BIOS / re-flash. If I tried to boot DOS USB once it entered this state, it would either hang / or in the case of FreeDOS output a bunch of invalid OP Code messages.

Keep booting to BIOS, QLED code A9 and/or A0 - PCPartPicker
I started to have intermittent issue where it doesn't boot correctly. sometimes it boots to BIOS, or shows BSOD, or shows INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE error, or get stuck at ASUS logo. In BIOS, it reads all components correctly. (SSD, HDD, Rams) I'm running windows10 on it. Whenever that happens, I checked QLED code and sometimes it shows A9 and sometimes it shows A0.

r/ASUSROG on Reddit: Asus ROG X570 showing code A9 even after removing and turning on with and without HDD, booted with single ram stick and even reset bios settings
January 9, 2024 -

So before all this started my pc was working fine decided to turn up my ram MHZ and then my pc started turning off and on tried flashing bios by using the button on the back but no dice I decided to turn off unplug the pc and take out CMOS battery and it reset my bios setting returned it to factory settingsand it started working again fixed one but another pops out its A9 I automatically boot into bios every time I took out the gpu and tried to see if anything was wrong nothing everything is clean I moved around my ram and the code still pops up and I removed my hdd and it still popped with A9 code. I don’t have another set up to try the pieces individually.

I have run out of solutions from searching google and don’t know what else to try except to remove CMOS battery and see if that works Specs: Cpu: RYZEN 9th Gen 5950x Ram: T force 32x2 64GB 3600MHz GPU: aorus Geforce rtx 3080 Ti Motherboard: ROG Strix X570-E gaming
