Roadside Assistance: Good. Very Worth it. I like AAA Plus $99.99 - Yearly (4 tows / services up to 100 miles each.) I too, have looked for other benefits that would be useful to me, & haven't been very successful. I wrote down: AMC & Cinemark have discounts. But this is only beneficial for NIGHT TIME, really. For instance, Cinemark tickets are $13.49 online for a showing ANYTIME. Good price for night. But I go to matinees, & those are $12.50 in person. 😆 🤷‍♂️ UPS: 15% off products, 5% shipping. I find better prices & services at USPS. Napa Auto Parts: 10% off. None near me. 😆 Here's a big one: RENTAL CARS. I rented through AAA (Hertz) before & got a good price for a vehicle on Maui, 2021. But for the most part... I always pay the best prices using AutoSlash, which is free! When I rent a car, I check my AAA & Costco memberships... & almost always... AutoSlash is a better deal ! Roadside usage counts as a claim on your insurance history, which is a Bad Thing. AAA usage does not. Also if you get AAA Plus, you can usually get towing up to 100 miles, vs the standard 4-10 miles offered by insurance and the basic AAA tier. Some companies also offer AAA discounts on car rentals, hotels, etc. Insurance will usually only tow to a shop (when they finally show up, which might be a day or two later); if you want a tow home, good luck. AAA drivers typically don't care where it's going. If they do, a $10 tip or a pack of smokes usually changes their mind. Insurance roadside calls are also the lowest priority for towing/roadside assistance companies - I've waited over 8 hours (called around 10pm, sun was up when they finally showed up) when I did a roadside call with my car broken down in a traffic lane on a major highway (cops eventually helped me push my car to the shoulder, but gave me a lot of shit for blocking the road and ticketed me... sorry my engine threw a rod and locked up, in a car with a manual transmission, in the middle of the road, dickweeds - the front wheels locked up and the car weighed anchor, wasn't strong enough to push it myself in neutral). AAA is higher in priority for most companies - they get paid more by AAA vs insurance. You can also use AAA to help a friend if their car has issues while you're a passenger. tl;dr absolutely go for AAA. Wait for a mailer to get a discount code if you can, you can usually get at least half off. More on reddit.com

Factor into the equation that AAA roadside coverage is on the person, not the car. So if you ride or drive in a non-owned vehicle you are still covered by AAA. More on reddit.com

Just a heads up, the insurance roadside assistance calls get counted as incidents against your insurance I believe so you might want to be careful with that. I know people here say AAA is a rip-off but AAA actually loses money with the road side assistance every year. The reason they still offer it is because they want to generate goodwill with people and get you to try out their other services. Lastly, just pay for the classic membership for a cheap price but if you plan on traveling far or road tripping definitely get the plus membership as you get covered for 100 miles.
