Is it possible to ONLY paint the ridge accents on these crappy cupboards?
To be clear: I would not be painting these red. Not sure yet on color, but definitely not that pukey tomato red lol.

Looks great! I imagine this took quite a bit of time to make.
Side note - I'm also a big fan of the way you displayed your bromeliad on top with the bark and moss. Do you have to keep the base really wet? How often do you water or spray?

I want to help my sister improve her crappy kitchen, but we can't spend a lot of money ripping things out. I suggested the following:
- paint only the accent ridges of the cabinetry
- change the metalwork appropriately
- keep the counters and tilework (for now)
THE ORIGINAL. Cabinets and tile have to stay (for now) unfortunately. VERSION 1 : we would paint the tiny ridges VERSION 2 : we would paint the entire "frame" area Kelly Wearstler's design for Cameron Diaz. I am just posting this photo to show the accented ridges. This is what I would like to attempt.
The photo of this Kelly Wearstler kitchen gives an idea of what I mean, but I don't want to do gold leaf because it is out of sync with the rest of my sister's home.
MY QUESTION: How would I do this? I can't find any good tutorials. Do I need to sand, and if so, how do I sand something so narrow?
To be clear: I would not be painting these red. Not sure yet on color, but definitely not that pukey tomato red lol.
I don’t think the cabs are the problem. It’s the cheap pulls and tile/granite combo. I like the other suggestions of changing the tile and new pulls. These are nice cabinets and I think any futzing with them will end up looking like a really crappy DIY
