Just received my new order from Cricket (phone and SIM card).
When trying to enter this website address to activate my new service (https://www.cricketwireless.com/activate.html ), it is 'blank'. Tired Chrome, Edge, IE, and Safari.
Should I set up the account first ( https://www.cricketwireless.com/login.html#/register ) - at least this address works.. - tried that - no go; I need to activate service. Bummer...
And there is also "activate.cricketwireless.com" but when going through that portal, it asks me to add a plan to the cart and select phone number to transfer (both steps were already completed during purchase).
Confused...
Edit 1 day later: I'm up and running on Cricket on my Moto G Play 2021. It was a disaster, but I am enjoying the AT&T network coverage!
Edit 19 hours later: It isn't possible. The activation process stops if the Cricket SIM sent with the phone isn't inserted into the exact phone during activation. Now to consider my options (if any). Original post follows:
Recently bought a Moto G 5G from Cricket under the current 'port your number and pay for a month of the $60 plan' promotion. (I was already thinking of BYOPing my compatible factory unlocked Moto G Play 2021 because I want off of T-Mobile MVNO service, until my cat knocked it off the desk it was charging on—it still works and charges for now, however the charging port is now very loose).
Because of how I am affected by disability before I can connect the Moto G 5G to any network (cellular or wifi) I first need to sideload some already-downloaded .apk-sourced apps from an SD card, however I found myself experiencing disabling symptoms while trying to set up said Moto G 5G.
I really, really, really need the AT&T network service that Cricket offers more than I need the new phone, would anything stop me from being able to activate the SIM that came with the Moto G 5G, which would complete porting my number to Cricket, and instead put said Cricket SIM into the Moto G Play 2021 (this would be temporary to give me more time to set up the new phone)? And if I did so would Cricket want me to either return and/or pay full price for the Moto G 5G? I haven't found any answers to any of this on any official Cricket support sites.
