r/xboxone on Reddit: Seeking Recommendations: Open-World Story Games for Xbox
February 25, 2024 -

I'm on the hunt for some new games to dive into on my Xbox, and I'd love your recommendations! I'm a big fan of open-world story games, and one of my all-time favorites has been Assassin's Creed Valhalla.

Here's a list of the games I currently have on my Xbox:

  • Assassin's Creed Valhalla

  • Starfield

  • Dead Island 2

  • Fortnite

  • Roblox

  • Minecraft

Based on these preferences, what games do you think I should check out next? I'm open to any suggestions and would love to hear about your personal favorites. Thanks in advance for the recommendations!

You are free to make your own choices, allowing you to become a trader, bounty hunter, or even a space pirate that preys on other space fleets.Console development was abandoned : There will not be any new content for console players from this point forward. | "Mile wide and an Inch deep": The game has a serious problem with depth and requires the user to repeat the same few fun actions over and over again. The world is massive and beautiful but feels empty. The game gets stale quickly despite being visually stunning. | Very realistic representation of space & star systems: Elite Dangerous uses publicly available real world star maps that we have of the Milky Way consisting of 150,000 star systems. Although in the current beta, full access to the entire galaxy is limited, in the final game, you will be able to visit any of the 400 billion stars in our galaxy on a 1:1 scale. Stars that we do know of are properly mapped in place and are of the correct type given the information we have about them. Stars we haven't collected data on are procedurally generated which allows you to explore any of the 400 billion of them. Star systems are intelligently simulated using the "Star Forge", a generator that simulates the creation of a star system forming from its nebular cloud to determine what celestial bodies appear and what orbits they have. This feature leads to many varied and unique star systems possibly with planets that can co-orbit around each other, or with binary star systems, and infinitely more possibilities. | Exploration at every level of detail: Full exploration of the galaxy is planned, allowing you to be able to jump from star system to star system, and fly around within a solar system from planet to planet, eventually going all the way down to a planet's surface at a 1:1 scale in a later update. Planetary landings will require a lot of details to be developed and designed, but you can still see the level of detail shift in action when flying into a planet's rings, where getting close enough show the individual asteroids within, which you can then interact with through mining, or by having a battle among them. | Really complicated to learn: Looking up faqs and trade routes from first hand users will be the norm for figuring out many aspects of Elite: Dangerous. On top of this notes will have to be taken, which is made more difficult by the fact the game does not support in game not taking. So a pad and paper is recommended to remember all of the minutia of the game. | Built with future expansion in mind: When Elite Dangerous come out, development won't stop. To build a game with the huge scope of Elite Dangerous, not all of it can be done at once, so the developers have adopted an approach of incremental improvement. Various game play elements are being designed as a foundation for later features. For example, although planetary landings aren't going to be available until a later update, the engine has been designed to be able to support going from lightyears away to meters away.

You need to traverse many Marvel themed environments while brawling with villains and their henchmen.Very addictive to collect the playable characters: LEGO Marvel Super Heroes has more than 130 playable characters, such as Wolverine, Spiderman, Iron Man, Deadpool. Their abilities are varied enough that you'll keep wanting to try out new characters. This will keep you completing various missions and collecting tokens around the LEGO city. You'll have unlocked most of them before you know it only to realize how much time has passed already. | Great fun for Marvel fans: LEGO Marvel Super Heroes not only uses the most popular Marvel characters, but also some of the lesser-known heroes, such as Moon Knight. It feels nice to finally see them in a video game. Most of the Marvel characters are accurately depicted (albeit in their LEGO forms). This allows you to further immerse yourself into the crossover story on par with the ones found in the comics. | Simplistic repetitive gameplay: The gameplay hasn't changed much since LEGO Star Wars: The Video Game. It still has very simple beat-em-up style combat, having you mash the same buttons over and over, which can grow tedious after a while.

r/XboxGamePass on Reddit: Your favorite Action-Adventure games on Xbox
December 30, 2024 -

I've played and completed Indiana Jones and the Great Circle and I'm looking for games with a nice story, fun gameplay and that are somewhat rooted in reality (tell human stories) or are at least plausible.

I've played several Assassin's Creed and Far Cry games but those extensive open world games with repetitive tasks literally give me fatigue, I'd rather have a more focused experience.

I'm not a big fan of souls, fantasy medieval or anything too gritty, but I don't mind dystopian/futuristic/sci-fi worlds. Among my favorite games I've played are the following:

  • Tomb Raider trilogy

  • Hitman franchise

  • Splinter Cell Conviction/Blacklist

  • Indiana Jones and the Great Circle

  • Mafia 1, 2

  • Red Dead Redemption 1,2

  • GTA franchise

  • Max Payne

  • Dishonored series

  • Batman Arkham series
