almost my entire home is furnished with high quality pieces from kijiji. wealthy people in my city seem to like to change pieces up frequently and i've managed some amazing deals.
probably my best being a gus modern media console retail $2800+tax, my price? $250 and $100 to rent a van for the day to move it.
genuine eames conference table, retail $1500, my price $200 in perfect shape.
I love a good kijiji deal.

Seconding Ikea. If you go in person, they have an "As Is" section, it's stuff that's damaged in some capacity and thus is at a very deep discount. Partner and I got our three-seater couch that way, I think it retailed new at $1,000, but it had briefly been a floor model and it was missing a screw or something. Got it for $300 and it's still going strong four years later. More on reddit.com

You can go to Facebook market; tons of second hand furniture there. If you don’t have a car, you can also find delivery service there or go to task rabbit. I got my furnitures there, the price is way cheaper even plus delivery than IKEA. More on reddit.com

I'm looking to gift desks and chairs to two family friends and it feels like IKEA has really bumped up their prices. Last time I bought a desk was probably a decade ago at Staples so who knows really. I know shipping rates soaring has caused furniture to spike in price.
Just wanted to get some ideas as I was looking through Kijiji and the pickings were real slim.

A lot of people saying structube but their quality for the cheaper stuff is pretty crap, would recommend cheap ikea over that. The mid range stuff they carry is actually nice though.
Try out any garage sales happening in your neighborhood to see if you can find anything, also I’m finding Facebook marketplace has really cannibalized kijiji and has the better selection for used stuff now, so maybe try that.
