Is learning AI/ML worth it.
learn anything worth it, but for job no. the market is lock in masters-phd + experience. only big companies can afford to create new stuff, smaller ones will use what is open source stuff, so rigth now has a lot of chances, but i believe when the hype ends only the faangs or nvidia like companies will keep with new ai projects More on reddit.com

So, I’m a medical fresh graduate and currently work in an accelerator company. Usually I work with startups with so many AI-based ideas but I can’t understand their idea fully.
At beginning I wanted to learn Data Analysis but now I’m leaning towards AI more, but I read somewhere that in order to learn AI you have to learn Data Analysis first is that true? I don’t know how and where to start and despite having a lot of resources everywhere I still don’t know which one suits me better as a complete beginner.
If anyone have a specific course, a roadmap or any advice it will appreciated as I’m completely lost! Thanks in advance.

What do you want to do with AI? If you want to learn how to make use of AI, that won’t require much. If you want to learn how to train models, that will likely take some schooling. If you want to build your own generative AI, then go back to school, get PhDs in computer science, data analytics, and applied mathematics. Then make a few friends who want to work on the same, and set aside 5-6 years to make it happen.

AI and Your Learning: A Guide for Students | Center for Teaching and Learning
On a basic level, generative AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, and Google Gemini are called “generative” because they produce text, images, audio, or other content in response to a prompt. Through a complex process of machine learning, which involves training the AI model on vast amounts of data and then fine-tuning the model, an AI tool is then able to generate responses that resemble human-generated language.
