Nope. 1st gen pros don’t work with the 2nd gen pro case. Plus, Apple isn’t selling the USB C cases on their own. Right now you have to buy a whole new set of 2nd gen pros to get USB C, but hopefully someday they’ll sell USB C replacement cases.

Probably. You might have to reset and repair your AirPods to get them to sync up, but since they can replace individual pods, the case should be pretty interchangeable as well. Certainly a better deal at ~$40 than through Apple, where I think a replacement case is ~$100.

Sadly, you need the case. The only option I could see here is visiting an Apple Store to see if they would be so kind to let you charge your ear pods. I would tell them you're visiting and left your case at home in some other land.
