just got the new airpods 4 gifted to me, which one would you say is better?
After having my AirPods Pro 1st gen, I’m shocked how well they’ve aged throughout the 5 years. At first In 2019 I was unsure if almost $300 was worth it at the time. Now that answer is overwhelmingly YES! Recently they fell in a bowl of pasta sauce. So I cleaned them for the first time in 5 yrs. I use Castile soap, hot water and multiple Lysol wipes to then learn that was wrong. Today I popped them in after letting them dry and they still work! Throughout the years these pods and I have gone through a pandemic 3 car accidents, 2 fights, a fall down a down the steps. Also washing and drying twice in my pants pockets. And they still work perfectly fine. Outside of a few scrapes on the case they look amazing. I play basketball, shower, sleep (sometimes) run, hiking once in the blue and etc. they’ve taken a beating and yet they still last the test of time. Outside of scratches on the case and only getting 2.5 hours of ANC. But after half a decade later these earbuds have shown their worth. What do you guys think? Any of you have your OG AirPods Pro?

Hey guys so a few years ago I received apple airpods 1st generation for my birthday. After about 1 year the left airpod stopped working completely. I brought them to the apple store and unfortunately there was nothing they could do and the worker said it was because they aren't made to last in "Canadian weather".
I have a 200$ apple giftcard and wondering if you think it's worth it to invest in a pair of airpods pro?
I've been using the wired earphones from apple for now but I have to replace them quite often as the left airbud keeps dying.
Thanks!
Hi I'm looking to get the Airpods Pro and I'm debating whether I should get the Airpods Pro 1 or the new one. Not considering the other aspects like better ANC and battery life, the 1st gen is heavily discounted right now. So to get a feeling of how they sound like, I've AutoEQ my Letshuoer S12's to both of them.
Listening to both tunings, I think I prefer the tuning of the 1st generation. Although it sounds somewhat thinner, I think it sounds cleaner and not as bloaty as the 2nd gen. Obviously since it is just EQ, it might not actually represent the actual case. I've seen many tech youtubers say they sound better but I'm pretty sure it's just because the 2nd gen sound warmer and fuller.
Does anyone here have both of them and may I know how do they actually compare?
I recently found a clearance of AirPods Pro 1 and they told they bought it around 2 years ago. I wish to buy it buy I don't know if it is worth and safe buying the 1st gen in 2024. Should I buy it or wait for AirPods 2nd Generation to mark down during sale?
Note:
I have a tight budget here so I have been considering clearance sales + other alternatives. What are other alternatives for AirPods Pros?
Got mine today (UPS dropped them at 14:00 UTC+2) and they’re honestly a massive step up from the 1st gen. The sound is way clearer and more detailed — on Liszt’s Liebestraum I could actually hear the pedal mechanism for the first time, and the bass in Chopin’s Prelude Op.28 No.4 feels deeper but still natural. On the other side of the spectrum, bad guy (Billie Eilish) hits perfectly, bass feels tight like a tap on the ear, and in Atmos mixes like Blinding Lights (The Weeknd) or Come Together (Beatles remaster) the space and subtle sounds really come alive around you.
Overall: neutral, powerful, and insanely immersive compared to the 1st gen. If you’re on older AirPods Pros, this upgrade is absolutely worth it
Should i buy pro gen 1 or 2022 gen 2? Both new
gen 1: £149.99 my iphone has lightning so i would only have to carry one charger
gen 2: £199.99 usb c
aside from these facts i dont really know much else as i havent had the chance to get my hands on either to test, i care about sound quality and longevity mainly everything else is less important to me.
anyone whos tested both have any advice on which i should pick? thanks
New user here, is it worth it to pick up airpods pro 2 over the first generation? Any noticeable differences for new user? Thanks 🙏
I had my 1st gen airpods for about 4 years before any issues arose with them being that sound started coming out of the wrong speaker. is it worth investing in airpods pro is this an issue that happens with them too?
I have the AirPods Pro Gen. 1 and I was wondering should I upgrade and if I did would I notice a difference in sound quality for example?
Bought them in January 2023, been 2 years since then. Noise cancelling is just perfect, audio quality is crystal, battery life is still coming in strong after 2 years of heavy usage, and don’t even get me started on head tracked Spatial Audio.
Their durability? Just like a Nokia 3310. Dropped them in a water bucket, no damage. Dropped them in a rain puddle, cleaned them off, still work like new. Dropped coffee on them a couple of weeks ago, it’s like they just got out of the box.
Absolutely perfect pair. They’ll probably outlive my iPhone.
As the title says, a good deal came up regarding airpods pro 1st gen so i am wondering if its a good headphone worth buying nowdays.. (i do not like the regular airpods because they do not fit on my ear)
Gen 1 are still very good headphones. I’m not planning to switch to Gen 2. But otherwise: I didn’t ever experience the new features (better ANC, volume control directly on the headphones, better Find My implementation, slightly better runtime).
But if your deal is good enough (the Gen 2 are really expensive!), why not? If it’s just the better fitting and you don’t need the better features: take them.
I just bought gen 2 last week. Main reasons: The extra $80-100 wasn’t killer for me Seems like gen 1 is on its way out of the life cycle (discontinued by apple and likely no future updates) I like to have the newest version of something (within reasonable price range)
Since I bought my initial pair of AirPods Pro 1st gen in January 2020 it got replaced 8 times - 4 times they were changing individual pods and 4 times they changed both of them. Is there still problems with a quality and rattle after some time or did they fixed it in second generation? I had no problem with a first gen regular AirPods but Pro was a joke for me, I don't want to visit service on a regular basis anymore.
Found this from a guy at my city, its is 4 years old now, is it worth buying? i could never justify 250 for earphones, recently switched to Iphone from android and want to experience the ecosystem for a few months.
People on here were saying that the 2nd gen tips DO fit on the 1st AirPod pros, but Apple support says they’re incompatible, but they can actually order me a pair of the 1st generation tips, but it’ll cost $11 for one pair, even though the normal price is $10 for TWO PAIRS.
Ok actually the shipping fee is $7, so the actual tips are more like $4, but shipping was usually free before, so it’s kind of like it is still more than the original price for just one pair.
As per the subject, I need some advice. Is the upgrade worth it? Or does it only make sense to switch to another Pro model?
Does anyone still have a pair that is on latest version and noise cancellation is still perfect as when first purchased?
Noise cancelling was never perfect in the app 1 id personally said that its terrible, in app2 however its excellent tho
I can’t actually remember, mines on the latest version, but don’t think the ANC and got any worst. Kinda wish the bass was as good with ANC off as it is On though.
I’ll be gifting my wife airpod pro. She’s not an audiophile and will probably use it for music in her office and watching social media videos. APP1 price is $175 while APP2 is $230. Is the price difference worth it?
